Formed in 2009 by vocalist/guitarist Patrick Walker (Warning), drummer Christian Leitch (guitarist in The River), and bassist William Spong (who also engineers, mixes and masters the band's work), 40 Watt Sun are a down-tempo doom metal band from the UK.

They're currently signed to Cyclone Empire (Europe) and Metal Blade (United States). Their debut album, The Inside Room, was released earlier in the year to incredibly positive reviews across the web.

Well, I know there are some acostic versions of the last Warning album.

Now I found the acoustic version of Bridges

That is the bonus track on the vinyl version of The Inside Room. 40 Watt Sun has also played totally acoustic gigs and usually they play one song, either this or Bridges totally acoustic live.

Would love to see an all acoustic release of The Inside Room

Yeah, the first time I heard Restless acoustic (pretty much a few weeks after the album was releases so I know about it long time ago. I was really moved, it has another atmosphere. Can't tell if it's better or not, both are equally beautiful in their own way.

Would be absolutely beautiful if I can listen to Restless acoustic in Roadburn.... Yet I still want to feel the heaviness of the original version. It would be cool if they can play both but I doubt it.

Also....
Am I the only one that compares his voice with Cat Stevens?

Yes, he reminds me of Michael Stipe here

Heh, I'm alone then... Well, not really. I showed the acoustic track to my mom and she really liked it and also said that it felt like Cat Stevens with less of a high pitched/nasal voice.

I love this band, "The Inside Room" was one of my very favourite albums last year.... I really like kind of uncommon ultra-emotional approach to traditional doom, but it's hard for me to understand why these guys had to form a new band to sound EXACTLY like late Warning... there were probably reasons that I missed to form this side band, and I would like to be enlightened about, but I don't see why "The Inside Room" wasn't simply released as a fantastic new Warning album...

I think you really need your ears checked
40 watt Sun sounds a lot different to Warning, both in the guitar tone, the drumming and also the vocals.
