MOD EDIT - started as a promo thread. Moved to Alt Metal to be a general discussion of the band and their releases. - Bitter

Sleestak is kicking off the new year with a new release called "Altrusian Moon - A Lo-Fi Collection Of Psychedelia and Space Rock". Yes, we know: we didn't warn you.

It is available at Bandcamp - http://sleestak.bandcamp.com - and is a "pay what you want" digital album - you can pay $0 or be as generous as you wish. We dug deep into our rehearsal archives to give our fans a glimpse into our relaxed free-form jams, a very psychedelic improvised musical exploration of song ideas. Yes, there are mistakes, missed drum hits, wrong notes, etc. but the journey is there - a raw yet sublime document of our times playing together in the basement over the years. Also included is the live remix jam version of "The Fall Of Altrusia" from 2009. You'll hear some of our wider influences in this material and may appeal to fans of Bardo Pond, Hawkwind, USX, Red Sparowes, Dead Meadow, White Hills, and Yawning Man.

If you dig it, please consider purchasing the download as we start gathering funds to record the studio follow up to "Altrusia" hopefully to be released in 2012.

We are really getting into writing the new studio effort at the moment - i'm not exaggerating when i say its gonna blow "Fall Of Altrusia" out of the water....hopefully everything will go right and we'll get to complete it by the end of the year. i'd love to release it a day before the world ends in december so people can get a chance to hear it!

but for real, we are planning this as a trilogy and will be continuing the story, pushing the epic nature of it as far as we can. i would say to expect the new album to be over 60 minutes, again one song split into chapters.

thanks to everyone for the kind words and support, its why we are doing this!

"Altrusia" btw is now back in stock and available at http://sleestak.bandcamp.com

please join us now at http://facebook.com/sleestakofficial and of course http://sleestakmusic.com

Its possible....though I dont know about customs, passports and such and if we need work visas and all that crap. as much as we'd love to just hit the road and show up, it would definately have to be worth the trip for us to come up.

Take a look at the two new designs and back us up. These will only be printed once if our funding is successful and you get the new stickers as well.

So, the Book Of Hours EP is out now...go grab yourself a copy in either limited run CD format or digital download. Head on over to Bandcamp now and show us some stoner love. If you like it please tell your friends to get it as well because the money goes right back into making the next album - and trust me, we are already working on it and it's going to blow away every other Sleestak recording in terms of epic doomness. So yeah, we are definitely and independently FAN supported and we couldn't be happier with that!
(on a side note, the CD is delayed by about a week due to some mis-communication with the duplication company. We apologize for the inconvenience)

Want to win a FREE copy of the new EP? Here's what you do:
Listen to the songs "Appeasing The Gods" and "Blacklight Communion" and be one of the first three people to correctly identify 2 of the movies the samples in the songs were taken from.(There's actually 3 movies, but one of them is from the trailer). Think you're a fan of awesome 60's and 70's underground B-cinema? Prove it.
First person to respond gets the CD/Poster package w/digital download.
Second and Third to respond get download codes for the digital version.
EMAIL YOUR ANSWERS TO SLEESTAK (at) SLEESTAKMUSIC.COM

Lastly, we decided to do a show this summer! Here's the details:
7/26/2013 - Sleestak w/Mercian, Sardonyx
The Wisco, 852 Williamson St, Madison, Wisconsin 53703
