Good album, rock all the way..lot of fun.. I'm not a big fan of van halen, but this is a good comeback album..

ok i've been listening to the album and... well it has some good bits but overall not brilliant at all. I'm disappointed

I've heard a few songs off it and it sounds not only boring, but kind of embarrassing. A major local newspaper here gave it a bad review, and they never give a negative review to any older mainstream artists...That should speak volumes in itself.

Checked the songs and must said this is a surprisingly acceptable Van Halen music. sounds more diverse and dark tunes in the mid end of the tracks. not upsetting at all for a band we thought on the end of the road.

A rating of 7 does not show disappointment.

I may give it a try but I don't expect much. Listened to Tatoo and some samples and i am not impressed at all.

I feel kinda tempted to listen to this, even though I'm not expecting anything great from it at all... and, this is not a true Van Halen reunion, as Michael Anthony is not there.

you're the first person I come across who finds it totally shit.
Everyone else I know thought Tattoo and that other song were crap but the rest of the album was good to very good.

I'm not saying it's shit; I could not get halfway through the album and that is mainly due to David Lee Roth. I found his performance annoying.

Weither it's bad or not, it's certainly better than anything they've done over the 90's with Hagar.

I disagree, both For Unlawful Carnal knowledge and Balance are better than this IMO. Especially For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge which I consider one of their best albums and certainly their best with Sammy Hagar.

I also hate all Hagar era albums.

I've always failed to see what is so great about David Lee Roth. To me, he's always been a mediocre vocalist. To me, it never mattered who was the singer in VH, it's the guitar work that interested me. To their last album, DLR ruined it for me. I don't like his vocal performance.

Well its not that bad after u listen to it more than one times , still for me its a mediocre to good album has some nice songs i really like *You and your blues* and *As is*, after a big absence in the music industry i was afraid it would flaw big time but after i listened to the album its not that big of a dissapointment

Patterned and little bit stupid but fun

'Honeyabysweetiedoll' and 'Stay Frosty' are ridiculous, and 'tattoo' isn't exactly the most striking album opener, but what we have here is, as well as a valued and worthy comeback from one hell of a good rock band, a flurry of brilliant riffs that keep this album exciting. It could have been shorter perhaps, but on their next album (if there is ever one), the band will probably be partying like its 1978 again.

Wasn't expecting much at all. Gave it a few listens and changed my opinion. This is a fantastic effort that grows on you. Totally surprised.

Pure hard rock, but the lyrics are somehow funny and dumb Great album. The greatest hard rock band is back!!

This album is fuckin awesome!

No doubt - in the last over of 35 years Eddie van Halen is with class over the all guitarists.

As songwriter and performer he is better than Petrucci, Dimebag Darrell and Michael Schenker.

Excellent return from Van Halen!
Too bad Michael Anthony's backing vocals and bass playing are missing... He was an important part of their sound.

More I listen to it, the more i find reasons to like the album as a whole. Big River is my favorite track.
That gets happily stuck in my head, really really like that one
Lowest point has to be that new tattoo just shouldn't have been a single.

I do love Van Halen, all eras.
