Aww, awesome find Innerself! This album is definetly post-metal/sludge, I would know! I like this album as well. I need a few more listens before I rate it!

Yeah, me too ! I typed their name in the search field thinking I'm not gonna get any results, but there it was : a page with both albums added and a review of their debut EP (which I'll be checking to see what they sounded like before this)

A 9 this is !

Cool to see them still around, will have to check this out.

i don't recall entirely what the ep sounded like, it's been a while and i lost the music due to my pc melting earlier this year... my guess is the OPETH bit was based open their citation coupled with the basic shifts from harsh to clean to harsh and back.

They say in their Bandcamp page that they shifted styles after the EP and apparently it did sound a lot like Opeth

Didn't know they have a page here haha. Samaroid Dioramas is indeed a very nice Post metal album

Been here since OBC added them in '09.

This release is growing on me more & more. My new favorite post album of the year (so far). Fans that can't wait for the new CoL album and need a filler, try this.

I actually thought about it for a moment, will not do it though. I think it's a solid 9
If things weren't so shitty here I was thinking about reviewing it ... might have some time to do it in the future and I really want to because I feel that I have a lot to say about it.

Pretty sharp yes, "Trismegistus" is more of an ambient track which leads into the colossal death/djent metal song "Samaroid"

I just "10"ed this...had to do it.

Really liked this album, especially what they did on "Samaroid"; haven't ever heard such fast and technical metal actually feeling post! At the moment, though, I feel that the mellow parts fail a bit, and the explosive parts are too extensive and chaotic. But that might change with further listens. Might bump it up to a 9.

Since about half of the posts on this thread are yours that is not at all surprising

Certainly a fine album. Don't know why I didn't like it at first when they were nominated in the MS awards.

Revisiting this and realizing it's unbelievably stunning. Also the band posted this on their facebook a few weeks ago.

I still cringe every time I see this band name.

At least they all make sense. Here it looks like they tried to make a pun out of sun and hypocrisy. Just doesn't work and sounds unpleasant to say.
