+1 for Deafheaven winning. A bit surprised to be honest.

But ya. Little bit of a typo there.

The Amenta?..
What?

Even if it was an EP it destroyed every other release One of the few industrial metal bands that are relevant.

Needless to say that I disagree with a couple of albums but hey, I can't agree with all my co-workers!

Why, which one would YOU have voted?

Tbh I have not listened to all of those albums (neither have I voted) but based on superficial listens and stuffs it does seem to be at least near the top of that bunch there.

But.. still.. I cannot agree with an album of re-recording songs .. well, just my opinion, but I'd choose in any case or category a fully new release :/

I'll grunt in the distance. I'm very surprised to see GB with an Award, although I'm not surprised to see them with an Award on Metal Storm.

I think because they aren't pure black metal most of the Staff members who don't necessarily follow black metal find them easier to digest.

I'd think between Rod, Joe, and Rozz we would have awarded one of the avant-garde/black metal albums with the win, or one of the BaN releases. Typically you'd usually get something more along the lines of Taake, Leviathan, Absu, or Nightbringer.

I would have loved to see BaN winning but I think Joe spammed them enough in the forums

Awards/Recommendations are boring imo. If i want an opinion, i would definitely check it out myself than read tons of shiz abt it.

How would you check something out if you didn't knew about the existence of it before someone else pointing it out? That's what MSA or any recommendation is for: a heads-up in case you missed something you might like along with links so people check them out by themselves and NOT take our word for it. So the comment about "checking out myself" is weird because that's exactly what people do: checking out the music themselves. Recommendations aren't as much opinions but more of a heads-up.

Even if you are searchingm by yourself... you still get around the sounds you are looking for by reading what someone said about a band with a description that interested you. I'm not saying you are wrong by saying the awards are boring (you are entitled to that I and I respect that) but saying that MSA are a heads-up for those that might want some new stuff they didn't know.... not an opinion we want you to know because we like attention. Thinking otherwise is kind of missing the point :\
