Of course. There is no substitute for looking into the bands’ background and lyrics for ourselves. I just really appreciate that the chance of falling in love with the music of truly awful people is far less likely here.
Just one reason Metal Storm is so incredibly important and useful for me, is the fact that when I discover a band here, I at least know the music itself isn’t an expression of nazism or some other evil ideology.
We’ve all probably paid for art made by horrible people. There is no way to be aware of every single band’s exact ideology, let alone the beliefs the individual members. Just one reason why… tbc
Because I must inflict this upon others, I give you two singles from Babymetal, the newest project from Japan for driving people like us insane.
It's like the worst parts of nu metal and J-Pop were blended together. And if you think this one was bad, watch the other one. Just wait for the "rap" segment. You'll know it when you see it.
inb4 Japan is weird. This goes beyond "weird;" this hurts. The thing is, I like some J-Pop (mostly because I like electronic music in general), and I like heavy metal (obviously), and I even wouldn't mind if there wasn't some kind of fusion between the two, but it would MOST DEFINITELY NOT sound like this. This is just painfully bad.
Nevertheless, my opinions aside, what are your reactions?
Japanese execution in anything are always praises for sheer overrated respect whether its technology, infrastructure or whatever. but when it comes to Music? Maaan! we ought to need to take it seriously. They gotta great ass talent and this "babymetalfuckocrap" is no exception. #Respect(Eh?!)
Honestly this is the kind of thing that's so like, so 100% bait for sarcastic comments I don't even know. What I always wonder about is why there's like half english writing in Japanese shit, it's like *##&%$@& Records... What's the point of saying records in English if you aren't gonna put the name of the record company in english? I don't know man.
This is pretty weird though, like I find it difficult to imagine being a human being anywhere and getting enjoyment from it, but them Japanese people I guess....

That was in the paper when it was first up on youtube. It's alright.

The bit before Records is Juonbu. Actually, just type babymetal into wikipedia and it'll tell you all you need to know. Basically, it's an offshoot from a manufactured Japanese Idol band. That says it all, really.
The guitarists on the first video look like they really love Wes Borland.

Who the fuck cares?! Or should I ask, why the fuck do any of you care? It was funny...not in a funny because its metal sort of way but funny because its not metal at all. Let them fail at being metal.
Written by bj_waters on 05.12.2012 at 10:01 Is there a source for that? I'm not trying to put you down, I'm just curious. That certainly would say quite a bit.
I heard him saying it a couple of days ago during a radio interview. lol If I can find the link for it, I'll post it here.
