There is a director in Japan...Takashi Shimizu.....he made two TV films called "Ju-On" and its sequel.....after that he made a theatrical movie on the same theme "The Grudge" and its sequel....now he has finally made two more films, this time with american actors...(how can we forget to mention Buffy...) An interesting actress I'll have to point out is the one, playing the main heroine....Takako Fuji....she has mostly starred in theatres, recently on screen in some comedies..... Still her major role is Kayako in the "Grudge" series, the evil dead woman with a crackling voice.....the other characters in the film are secondary....their stories follow each other like chapters of a book....each one has a different story....but they all have similar ends....Kayako shall kill them...... Takako Fuji has said in an interview that she has now played in "The Grudge" six times.....and she admitted she was willing to play the role in the future as well.....a great advantage for her is that she had earlier practiced ballet and dancing which helped her to give Kayako this eerie way of moving.... What do you think of this film.... BTW....if you visit Youtube, just type in "Ju-On the curse" and you shall have access to all the parts of both of the original TV releases..."Ju-On" and "Ju-On2"

I thought it was a rather weak movie. Sure it was enjoyable but not near the attention it got. Have to say I was rather dissapointed. It wasnt paticularly scary either.

i saw the american version of course The Grudge. It was below my scary margin but it was a good film , that voice remain in my mind for several week . The Grudge 2 is more scary as from some reviews . I will surely go to see it

To be honest....the storylines of these film series are like scetches of a comedy program...I saw first the Buffy version....it was good....then I saw the previous japanese version....there were the same sequences....the same characters....but also some characters that hadn't appeared in the american version.....however....I saw these sequences in the second part of the American Grudge.... When I saw the television films on YouTube, it was pleasant to see the same scenes that appeared in the American sequel.....I still haven't seen the Japanese Grudge2....but I think this might be something really fine.....

I haven't seen Ju-On, but "The Grudge" is an awful movie! I admit that it's scary, but that doesn't mean it's good. I agree with Basso, it was weak and a dissapointment.

This movie is absolutely horrible (and not in a good sence). Its so predictable and primary. It brings nothing new or particularly interesting in my opinion. It was kinda hard to watch it until the end to be honest.
