my experience with them has been somewhat poisoned, much as I love IE, much as I love Schaffer as a musician. Seems like he might have his conviction thrown out pretty soon, but the damage has already been done.
@Metren: I feel similarly. It's a fantastic composition but the last time I listened to it I started hearing the lyrics in a different way. Now there are some Iced Earth songs that just draw me back to Schaffer's ideology and
Varg is and will forever be a major dingus, but yes, his writings and videos were both hilarious simply for the sake of morbid curiosity if nothing else

Could it beat Kyuss? Because their s/t is probably the stoner album I use to measure the quality of other stoner albums.
Huh... I still haven't heard the whole album.
Yeah, that and Electric Wizard's 'Witchcult Today' are the ones it has to stand up against in my head. Hard to say for sure but it's at least as good as them for me.
Sky Valley is the s/t one The band have insisted that it's self titled.

Anyway this is definitely a good album. Not so sure if I would rank it so highly though, but I haven't heard it that much yet, just a few spins. So maybe I will have a different opinion a few more spins down the line
