Angelus Apatrida - The Call

I've seen this video 5 or 6 times, and totally just noticed that I have that exact same bass :3

Saw them live a few weeks ago but didn't notice his bass - too busy checking out the awesome guitar riffing. What bass is that? Ibanez?

Can't be heavier then the f*cking Warlock I have. Never ever buy a Warlock. The sound sucks too.

Mine clocks in at probably 15-20 lbs.

I'd never buy a Warlock I like simple looking bodies.

At this point i think Deathhammer is head and shoulders over anything else i've heard this year... at least in thrash.

So far I've listened to

1. Warrick-Beyond Diplomacy
2. Rumpelstiltskin Grinder-Ghostmaker
3. Fastkill-Bestial Thrashing Bulldozer
4. Deathhammer- Onwards....
5. Municipal Waste-All Latest

And still more to come out.

Atm I'll choose Fastkill one of the best upto now. Great killing stuff. Absolute barbarous.

Spent a decent period of time in confusion.... I was like hmmm, I thought he would know Asphyx is death metal?...

But Onward to the Pits... I need to check that one out.

That Deathhammer is okay, but it becomes tedious to listen to the full album. Pretty much everything thrash-related has been disappointing to me this year. Maybe the wave of revivalist thrash is ending?

Just decided to check out that Angelus Apatrida album, and I'm in love. Thought I'd already heard all the good thrash resurgence bands, but apparently not.

Incapacitate's disc cassette's at the top right now. Out to Die and Onward to the Pits tied for second. Deathhammer's is more consistent, but the vocals are so... out there that they're a treat for the first couple tracks you throw on, then get distracting.

Biggest disappointment so far is Municipal Waste's. Fun moments, just all ends up sounding hollow in the end.

I need to get into Thrash metal soon. One genre that I really want to enjoy but so hard for me to digest

It's pretty good. I honestly think their last 2 albums are some of the best they've put out. Ironbound is better than the new one though.

I'd agree, Overkill's latest outdoes some of their more "classic" material if you ask me. Even better than Ironbound I think.

Overkill obviously sucks (they always do and have done for twnty freaking years) but Testaments latest and Kreator kicks some serious ass! As a sidenote I would like to say that MW is a joke just like Tankard and should be totally ignored all the time.

Really?

I just can't get into the new Kreator. It sounds as though they are just reusing riffs from Violent Revolution....

Well to evolve my quick post a little. Testaments latest is imo a great offering. Kreators latest I haven't more than one song from so I shouldn't say anything about it but the song I heard sounded good I think. If they are just reusing riffs from Violent Revolution (an album that I haven't heard) I wouldn't know.

Haven't heard very much pure thrash metal this year

Overkill's "The Electric Age" was good, but nothing special. Otherwise it has been the black/thrash-genre who has offered me the most. As already mentioned; Aura Noir, Desaster, Deathhammer, Impiety, Ketzer to name some of them
