Weak shit. And that coming from someone who likes Baroness _because_ they're sludge-light.

Hope the rest of the album performs better and that they don't follow the way of Mastodon's latest.

To all the bitches - Baroness may be evolving, deal with it.

Nonetheless, that's their choice right? It sucks if that's the case, and in such case fuck their new stuff. But I think they're onto something else, I was getting some Queens of the Stone Age vibes underneath the Nickelbackish singing, which is pretty promising to me.

They are not evolving, because that would imply they are getting better. They are devolving. Simple as that.

"Oh no, Baroness is making rock music! I hate them now!"

They have always had these tendencies. No matter what they write, it still sounds like Baroness. And like everyone else has said, with this being a double album, there is no way one song can represent the whole. Just look at how varied the material on Blue is. I'm not going to make an entire judgment until I hear the album, but I still dig this track. Just saw them live tonight on the Meshuggah tour and the new material sounds killer live. Baroness still packs quite a punch live, whether they are playing older or newer stuff.

The problem is not that this is rok music, the problem is that this song is totally crap rock music in the vein of crap Nickelback.

Just listened to this again and I think the comparisons to Nickelback are very harsh... on Nickelback! haha, just kidding about that. I think the song is okay, easy-listening rock and roll. Nothing wrong with that but nothing great. Is Nickelback on this site? Just kidding again.

I'm still failing to hear the Nickelback comparison. I mean like I said, I just saw them play two new tracks last night and they still fit in with the rest of the show pretty well. I'd like to believe that they know a little bit more about how to write songs than Nickelback does...

Some singing near the beginning does call Kroeger's voice to mind. Other than that it's simply sub-par rock, except for some interesting riffing here and there.

I'm guessing that one of the discs will be a spawning ground for their lighter side with more songs such as this one while the other one will continue in their more traditional vein.

Considering the amount of comments this song is generating, I don't think it's as simple as that, hence the "may". I don't know how to do italics in here otherwise I would have.

It's been out for two days, and it's already among my most played songs of the year. If the rest of the album is this good, then there's a strong possibility for top ten material.

Melody has always been an integral part of Baroness. The biggest difference between this and anything on the last two albums is the vocals. Their EPs were more psychedelic than the albums and I hear them pulling a more of that sound into present material. Again, I really like this. I don't hear POP HIT all over it and I'm wondering why some of you do?

Nickleback write pop-rock, in the same way Motley Crue writes pop-metal. The heaviest thing about Nickleback is the change in their pockets.

If that's how you prefer to categorize it then I guess this song is pop-rock by your standards.
