Both bands are highly technical metalcore bands, both have released a hand full of albums, but which one do you prefer? I know a lot of people don't liek PTH due to Rody's singing, but I love it, along with their crazy song writing, it makes for a great listen. so I voted for them.

Check out my Post-Black metal band out here.
New Ep out now!
ABR is surprisingly good for a bunch of young Christians in a metalcore band, but they don't have shit on Protest The Hero. I love intentionally weird technical metalcore like then.
This poll don't make much sense on these boards tbh, ABR's gonna be beaten to shit. I am not actually sure, I like PTH's best stuff more than ABR's best stuff but I probably like higher percent of ABR's materials than PTH.
Maybe I should listen to both discographies in full and then decide :>

Ended up going with August Burns Red. Could not really decide which band I like more but ABR I have known longer and generally been more important to me.
Aside from the fact that they make quality metalcore, what intrigues me about that band is the way they are flirting with post-metal. They released one post-metal song on an LP (Meridian), one of their "christmas songs" is essentially post-metal (O Come, O Come, Emmanuel) and on their last album a lot of their riffing reminded me of post-metal. Makes me wonder where this band is going.
