Dr Seuss is dead is such a disturbing song but in a great way. I go back to this album quite often, just for that song alone. An instant classic.

This album is "mood on" whenever you get fatigued from job hours. I never removed this album from my pad 'cause I still feel charged up sitting with shitty employees and fat-fucking-ass boss while turning up this fucking monster.

Sometimes I compelled to pick up a sledgehammer and destroy the part above neck in bloods and pieces. Well, I'm good controlling my emotions.

Fuck it if some people won't believe me, it ain't nothing too difficult to believe either. D:
Anyways I kind of grew up with this album. Listened the first time when I was 15 (first I said 14 but I did the math recently and realised my mistakes but yeah definitely 15 at the time).
I discovered their name thanks to a thread around here. i think it was one of those metal polls between Acid Bath and Eyehategod. The names and the descriptions provided by the users made me want to check them out. So I found Acid Bath's myspace and the 3 tracks they had were Jezebel, Scream Of The Butterfly and Cassie Eats Cockroaches. And shit... That was it or me. Heaviest, most corrosive and most emotional shit I've heard at the time... An opinion that I hold to this very day. Both Acid Bath and Eyehategod are still my favorite sludge bands of all time but this album in particular takes the cake for me. Definitely my most favorite album of the 90s. Love every second of it, know all the lyrics by heard and I was a bit too obssessed by it when i first heard it. Using youtube like crack for all the tracks I could find until I got hold of the album not too long afterwards. Extremely influential for me in terms of how my tastes developed right after.

So yeah... This album can take my post number 15000.

I believe you for the age part. I still am sure there was something before this album that you were addicted to.

Hmmmm, you COULD blame the memory on this one as well. It sounds fair but I'm pretty damn sure I never listened to an album as much previous to this one.

No, that doesn't imply this record shouldn't get low ratings or any castigation but what i've experienced from your side(especially when it comes to rating an album) you'd forgot to plug out your earbuds everytime. To keep this on topic, this wasn't the only Acid Bath album I had a problem with. They will surely get their mandatory biennial spin sometime but I wouldn't expect myself to suddenly fall in love with them either.

Oh damn, I thought you had already. Definitely check out Hate Songs in E Minor. You won't like it as much as this but just try to think of it as a simpler approach with a nice grunge twist.

Hmmm yeah some of the less abrassive tracks does have plenty of grunge. I guess I used the wrong words but the second album has a more... hmmm let's say less abrassive vibe and more liek hmmm.. radio-friendly? I dont know how ot say it. More accessible anyways.

I find this one way more accessible than the second one. But it is better in the songwriting department and especially when it comes to the production.

I KNOW RIGHT? When I read that he fopund the production lackluster here and great in the sophomore I was like HELL NO. It's THIN on the sophomore. And that is not good at all for the music.

But I disagree with you. C'mon if it weren't for the lyrics and some of the screams, virtually all the second album is for radio. Specially tracks like Venus Blue. The second album is way more radio-friendly. The riffs are less sludge, hardcore, doom and waaaay more rock, stoner. Hence way more accessible by the average dude.
