What are scary metal songs you ever listened to ? I mean the songs that make you feel the scary cold touch on your back and neck. Knowing metal is music for enjoyment, but I guess there can some songs that scareeee you. : )

Mine is theses two:

First Prayer - death spell omega.
The first you listen it especially if you are by yourself in the dark can be quite scary. You feel as the song closes, something is coming to get you.

what if the song ends and it's silent for a while and you start dozing off then it goes BOO!!....actually that would just be frightening.

If that counts, then Tarja's Ciaran's Well does that. The album's good to listen to when going to sleep, except for that song near the end if you forget it's there and aren't expecting it.

I had a similar experience when I heard Shining's Neka Morgondagen. That ending... holy shit!

My first death metal and black metal songs terrified me at first (note: not just because they were extreme metal), but strangely enough, they kept me listening and got me into the genres as a whole. Specifically, this intro and this midsection respectively.

Axis of Perdition's album Deleted Scenes from the Transition Hospital used to creep the shit out of me! I haven't listened to it in years but I can imagine it would still have the same effect today. One of those albums that you start to get that chill up your spine if you listen to it with the lights off

Stillhet's Silent Hill cover gave me a bit of a chill as well the first time I listened to it.

The first time I listened to "Bathory Erzsebet" from Sunn O)))'s Black One, it was 1 a.m. and I was alone in the dark. It terrified me.

It was nothing compared to seeing them live, though. They put me in a trance so deep... I almost fell asleep twice, and both times, right before I lost consciousness, Attila Csihar let out the loudest, most horrifying shriek which jolted me back to awareness. At the very end, it sounded like all of Hell had opened up and the millions of burning, tormented souls were screaming down my throat and eviscerating my soul. Not once in my life have I ever experienced anything similar to that.

The tricky thing about metal is you can't dive into the deep end when you start, or you'll scare all interest out of your system. Goregrind, Pornogrind, Brutal Death Metal, and Depressive Suicidal Black Metal scared the crap out of me 3 years ago

Wtf is even goin on here? This reminds me of stuff like Silencer, which Silencer doesn't scare me, it actually makes me laugh by how bad it is. But this is definitely creepy.

I don't know about "scary" per say, but for a great, creepy atmosphere it's tough to beat those early King Diamond records.

^ That Sortsind track is nothing scary at all, its laughable at best.

Abruptum's debut full length and Antediluvian's logos are definitely the most creepy albums I've heard but definitely not scary.

Mories I wouldn't really call creepy or scary but its probably the best at evoking the spine chilling ambience of a murder room or a horror scene. It's too cinematic and epic to be scary, it is just too damn tasty.

That band is highly debate when ppl said some good and some bad. Not scary at all.

I laughed and left what I felt was a fairly clever comment with other people who were making fun of it on a youtube video, and then we all started getting harassed by people claiming it was REAL music. That's definitely up for debate, because I'm sorry, but that shit was terrible.

After Throbbing Gristle, Diamanda Galas, and other kinds of experimental shit I still don't get, metal doesn't really hold any fear for me. Some black metal, like Gnaw Their Tongues or Abruptum have a certain creep factor, but nothing they've done can compete with "Slug Bait" or "Hamburger Lady" or "Frankie Teardrop".

Death metal lyrics look childish compared to this.

Bands that suck: Dream Theater, Dragonforce, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, the folk rock half of Led Zeppelin, 99% of thrash metal bands from the turn of the century, Mumford & Sons, any death metal band influenced by Necrophagist.

That is all for now.

Pretty crazy you mentioned Diamanda Galas, I asked my mother the other day if she remember anything truly giving her the creeps and she mentioned Galas' Litanies of Satan. Which I heard about a long time ago but only heard five seconds of it since it's just yelling and noise.

None of that is metal hence is a post fail.

That Suicide track is really good I enjoyed it. DG was utter crap, sounds like a woman screaming to her effeminate spouse while taking a dump.

I would post a Scott Walker track but then again it wouldn't be metal so I suggest people stick to metal songs alone.

Not creepy at all, great records, pure heavy metal.
