Elvenking - New Album Update, Announce Guest Musicians

Italian power/folk metal band Elvenking has issued a new update this time regarding their new yet-untitled, upcoming album and the guest musicians that will be featured on it. The band writes: "This summer is magical boys and girls! We hope you are already enjoying your summer holidays or that you planning your trips and your relax time."

"As you know the new Elvenking album is ready and it will be hopefully released in September 2012. We will inform you about the final release date as soon as we'll have more news about it. We'll try to give you some updates about the new album every week. In the meantime we are preparing things around the new video clip shooting and we will film it while you'll have a swim at your favourite pool or a good hot night at the seaside!"

"You already know that the Mountain King himself, Mr. Jon Oliva, will be guest on the new album leading his voice on two tracks. But we have also other great guest performance on the album. Wintersun's guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari laid down an incredible guitar solo on a track called "Walking Dead" (oh yes, this is the very first new title revealed! ... cool as the TV series at least!). You will hear it."

"Also Maurizio Cardullo from our dear fellows Folkstone has taken care of all the folk instruments in the album. So you will hear a lot of bagpipes, tin whistles, low whistlesthrough the songs. What do you think about that? And last but not least the gorgeous and amazing Finnish singer Netta Dahlberg performed some female vocals. If you have the last Amorphis album, well she is that amazing voice!"

"Something else? Oh yes, you will hear some amazing choirs performed by a nice fellowship of people: our friend, Mr. Alessandro Conti (yes, exactly him, new Luca Turilli's Rhapsody's singer and Trick Or Treat frontman), Marco Sandron (yes! new Eden's Curse singer and also Pathosray lead vocalist), Giordana Gisamano, great voice in Insanity Fair and the great addition of our two Heroes (who are not dead... not yet at least) Damna and Aydan. A nice colorful group, isn't it?"

"We are also preparing some cool stuff for you guys including a brand new lyric video and some clips around the making of the album and other nice and curious features! Prepare yourself... a new era is beginning!"

If this was rap we would say that Elvenking has one hell of a posse. But this isn't rap. Do we say that they have one hell of a battle clan...of elves?

Well I'm excited and can't wait.

And pff, a new era is always beginning with them. They haven't stuck to a single sound since their first two albums. By the sounds of it this album will be more in line with their earlier works, but probably fused with their latest sound. Like Runereader from the last album, at least that's what I hope it will be. The early albums were classic but they could have benefited from the production quality that they have now.

Great guest list; I might get over my mild dislike for this band to listen to this.

WOW. What a guest list. I wasn't all that interested in their previous album, still haven't heard it yet, but this one... I have to say that I am absolutely stoked. Can't wait to hear it!
