The legs of the scorpion are showing the top part of the body, its front would be facing the floor. Yet we have the badly shooped man-part on with the front facing away from the back. It's like having your arms on back to front, with the joints making them bend behind you.

The look on the models face is the part I hate the most. Something about her trying too hard to look "mean", and all it does is make me want to punch her in the face. Their older covers might have been pretty crappy, but this is just awful.

So basically.. the title has Manticore, which is a beast from Greek mythology and looks nothing like the weird estimation of the Succubus we got, from Hebrew mythology. And to top it off, an Egyptian themed background.

Will you guys stop calling the background Egyptian? These are sphynxes from Greek mythology (see "Oedipe et le Sphinx" by painter Ingres), with corinthian columns, typical hellenistic architecture...

Well forgive us for not all being professors in ancient cultures. It's a common mistake, and rarely, if ever talked about. I know Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt influenced eachother a great deal, but we were never taught what exactly came from where.

Not to mention how skillfully it was put on the picture just like miss "random chick I met on the street and gave her some "goth" dress and told her to look bored out of her mind which I needed for the artwork to look more gothic or something".

CoF is a cheesy, over the top band, and thats the way I like them. No one should ever take them too seriously.

Nah, I don't care for the cover either..The only part about the cover I like is the scorpion man, everyone else seems to hate it.
The goth chick and demon face are pretty awful though.

Well, it's going to be nice to see some CoF artwork in the upcoming WORST ARTWORK CONTEST

Cradle of Filth's covers have always been incredibly cheesy and badly made, and this one is no exception. So what's all this commotion?
By the way, I like the band a lot, especially the stuff that they did before 2003, but I have no problem admitting that their stage image and artworks are the epitome of kitsch and bad taste. Unlike their lyrics, which, while being often cheesy too, are very well-written and a pleasure to read.
