I definitely say Faith no more. One of few alt metal bands I really like. They really had a unique sound, and great songs that sounded nothing like anything before them.

Of those choices I went with Faith No More. I've been getting into them more and more over the years. I would say they're probably the most influential and most original out of those choices... Alice in Chains was a close second for me. Tool was one of my favorite bands in the late 90s when i discovered Ænima. After that they kind of got boring to me, not to say they suck now or anything.... I could never get into SOAD. Their first album was alright. I find their vocals to be annoying as shit.

If White Zombie was a choice i definitely would have gone with them. I just don't like voting for the "other" option

Butthole Surfers! If you can consider them an alternative metal band. But if not then i would say Faith No More out of this list.
