Necrophagist's "Stabwound", Deeds of Flesh's "Crown of Souls", Nile's "Sacrifice Unto Sebeck" - what do all these songs have in common? Well, it's insane drumming. Can you recommend me songs with similar drumming? I'm pretty sure Behemoth fans or Cryptopsy fans must know of quite a lot of these. Please don't say stuff like: "anything from band "x" has good drums", post the name of the one song that just rocks your socks from the certain band, maybe why you like it i.e. blasts, double bass. Well, let's hear it!

The Faceless - Akeldama album has some really nice drum parts flickering here and there, love the band too, also most of the songs of Nile.

After getting a copy of 'The Gallery' for Christmas and rediscovering this great album, I add 'Punish My Heaven' by Dark Tranquillity to the mix...Anders Jivarp excels himself here (although he sounds a bit too rushed in some of the earlier blastbeats, but this soon sorts itself out).

"Honoy Thy Father" By Dream Theater has insane drumming. The intro blows you away once you listen to it and the drum performance makes the song so great. Also check out "Painkiller" by Judas Priest, it's got an awesome drum intro.

Fuck yeah,Infidel has such a catchy drum intro, love the blasting. Also most of Vital Remain's "Into Cold Darkness" has great blasting, but doesn't really touch "Dechristianize".

Immortal Plague
Bloodshedder
Without a Doubt: Behemoth - Demigod or Behemoth - Antichristian Phenomenon

Both these songs dont have unbelievable blasts and double kicks throughout the songs, but when you hear a fast part in the song its like he cant get tired, the blasts and double kicks are so fast and the fills are even faster, hes absolutly insane, no question about it.

What, like "DJ Spooky And Dave Lombardo"- B-Side Wins Again feat. Chuck D, from the Need 4 Speed Most Wanted soundtrack? Oh yeah, the drums were totally hectic on that track

But i'm sure you meant stuff like "Raining Blood" or "Silent Scream" so it's cool.

Sound check guy: "AAAlright, Okay everybody, how y'all doin today? Great. OOOkay, alright. Alright Pete, let me go ahead and hear your kick drum please"

Pete: *boom*....*boom*....*boooljkhdfkjhfkudyhgkjehgkjdghkjdfkjstyiydiuyjADKSHCKJHKSHDKJH..etc etc*

Sound check guy: "....okay pete *biddaCRASH*...OKAY PETE, can I just hear your kick drum please.."

I've been listening more to nile these days. The drumming in their albums 'in their darkened shrines', 'annihilation of wicked' and 'the black seeds of vengeance' is really very technical, energetic, fast and 'insane'.
I strongly recommend these albums to those who like to hear, fast, technical and 'insane' drumming.

Its been a year or more since i really listened to Metallica - And Justice for all album. Some of the drumming is pretty insane on that album. Especially on Dyers Eve. I hate it when people say Lars Ulrich cant play drums, he is just very lazy.
