@capslock guy, you're not a criminal, you were banned for posting mysoginy. If you think that is something you should celebrate, I feel like we might end up in the same situation, just permanent.
@Liafev don't see the problem in that. You either take a laugh or "follow" a idiot, really. Not like narcissitic assholes like him don't deserve the bad they go after.
Guys, the song Low Man's Lyrics is so beautiful. Not greatest song but very great song both lyrics n music. I nearly cry when I listened to it n repeated. So beautiful song made by Metallica.
Tegan and Sara are a cool band, just saying. I have respect for their songwriting abilities. Apparently, they are getting big now with bigger tours and all.
It's been out a while, but it's been growing on me a lot: the new Shannon Wright LP, In Film Sound. Raw and moody alt-rock/noise rock/singer-songwriter stuff in the vein of early PJ Harvey and Cat Powers. It's actually one of the best rock albums of the year, not quite as moving as Torres' debut. Not the best song on the album by a long shot, but a decent example of her style:
Sounds and looks to be amazing, but I've only ever listened to The Place Where the Black Stars Hang and Heresy (which I loved). Would you say this is a good representation of his overall work?
Also, the appearance of Maynard is amusing.

Well I'd say Heresy is probably Lustmord at his best. This one seems to have a bit more of a ritualistic vein running through it. I didn't actually get chance to listen to the whole thing though so not entirely sure what I think of it yet.
Still haven't heard much from this year, be it metal or not [spend a lot of my time catching up on older music]. One of the only non-metal 2013 albums I've heard is Boards of Canada's "Tomorrow's Harvest" and it is excellent.
Sounds pretty good. There's so many bands trying to hop on the electronic bandwagon these days and most of them just do it terribly and it cheapens the whole thing, which makes albums like this all the more refreshing to hear.
How about some of the Sacred Bones records releases of 2013? I am referring here to Lust For Youth, Pharmakon, and Var. The bands, respectively, play synthpop/minimal synth, power electronics/death industrial, and post-punk.
Too late for this, but still an interesting 2013 album which was not mentioned here :
Dark Matter-How cold is the sun. It's publitshed by cryo chamber label so it is darkambient. Here is bandcamp
So yeah, a new Melt Banana album came out of nowhere. Sounds absolutely fantastic too and everything you could want from them. Punky noise rock (or rocky noise-punk if you like) with Onuki's brilliant vocals as usual.
If there are any modern folk/americana fans here, check out Western Medecine by The Builders and the Butchers. Here's a song:
If you like this I would suggest checking out their 2nd album Salvation Is A Dark Deep Well which is widely considered the best of their works to date.
Fernandez 4 just released a new album, "No Fear". These guys are local, they do some avant-garde alternative jazz kind of thing, I didn't know we had such geniuses over here The grandson of Astor Piazzolla is on drums.
