Where I live we where always one year after with everything. It probably was difficult getting albums distributed to us so 1994 was very much Icon for me.

I hope to see more differentiation between tracks relative to their latest, which was weak at times :S
The self-titled is their most varied and a head above the rest of their work. Needless to say I don't expect them to fix anything that's not broken
I haven't stated anything that contradicts what you stated so why bother arguing? I am merely suggesting that there is room for improvement regarding melodies, which at times prove stale to my taste...
Heard "Dreamscape" the other day and seriously fell in love with the song - probably listened to it dozens of times over a few days. The rest of the album, unfortunately, didn't quite live up to my expectations, but it's still not bad.
I so wan't to love this album. At first I was pretty disgusted by its mediocrity, but then the final song kicked in. What a monster! After that I've been relistening it or some time. But, apart from the last one, it is pretty boring...

You're not alone with your initial sentiment about being annoyed by the album being seemingly "mediocre". I was the same and it seriously grew on me, especially the second half. "The Ghost in Me" and "The Final Skyline" are some of MyGrain's best songs.
These guys are pretty badly overlooked because they're consistently better than Soilwork.
I really looks good. Not as much as the "Mygrain" but it is a good piece of music. Maybe it sounds cleaner than I would want, it would be her weakness from my poor view. But I like it and agree that it seems more creative than Soilwork.

Well, same thing happened to me. I thought it's mediocre stuff but by time i liked the album. I like 5 songs (Waking Up The Damned, Dreamscape, Rats In The Cradle, The Ghost In Me & The Final Skyline) ....... For Soilwork "Figure Number Five" & "The Living Infinite" kick ass, but for MyGrain i prefer "Orbit Dance". Both of the two bands are awesome though.
One of the best singers in metal today. This guy has the clean melodic + the sickest hard core screams ever. I became a fan with their previous self titled and this is a great follow up. I put this on and am blown away every time. So far I have not gotten sick of it after repeated plays .
By the way, I don't have the faintest idea why Tommy Tuovinen never made it to your talented vocalists list. The guy is nearly on par with Jari Mäenpää when it comes to technical ability and versatility. The second half of this record is a worthy showcase

No motivation to update it, he'll be added eventually.

After letting it rest for a couple of months, coming back to it, it's seriously mouth-watering! I wonder how I could misjudge it so. Happy that I didn't throw it away.
