Sounds really fresh. Overall an excellent song. It's really great to hear TK singing so relaxed and in such a good range.

Different sound, but still clearly Strato. At least they didn't put some crap vocal effects on it.

Still miss Tolkki stuff though, preferred his guitar sound.

With all due respect I miss Tolkki's guitar sound too and the great albums he made with the band - but if Tolkki were still in the band they would have stuck to the same 'mid-slow tempo' formula of songs that were churned out in the self-titled black album. Musically and creatively, that album was by far the lowest point of their career. Not to mention all the RR/Symfonia stuff is much lower quality when you compare it to the latest 2 Strato albums.

Stratovarius needed to reinvent themselves and take an approach like this in order to stay in the metal radar. I think with songs like this they're hitting the nail on the head - it sounds nothing like their previous work and their music has evolved so much more than what Tolkki was capable to give. As a result Strato is still alive and well, and more new fans are still finding out about them every day.

It's very difficult for a band to recover from band turmoils and remain successful, but these guys have done just that.
