There's a new Attacker out. Catchy US power, though I'm not too sure about the new vocalist. At times he sounds awful.. at others he really nails it.

Hammerforce Baby! A name you'll probably hear a lot in the future. I'm not so keen on Power, but this grabbed my attention.

I know their album "Dice"...found it quite weak or average at best...also the songs on bandcamp from the new one doesnt sound utterly glorious...not even for a flower metal fan like me...

Oh well, for a non connaiseur like me it sounded good. I know the singer isn't always tight, but the riffs are catchy. And I thought catchy riffs was the main thing in Power.

Agreed man, pure goosebumps! When I read that they had a female vocalist, some sort of Symphonic/Hollywood Fantasy Power Metal sprung to my mind (not a bad thing though!), but pleasantly surprised upon finding out that this was not the case, and also the fact that she's more like a powerhouse vocalist rather than the common operatic soprano type. Aside from the Brazilian elements and the Angra influence, there are some Symphony X vibes scattered about here and there which is also really cool.

Also I liked Vandroya, but it came out too late in 2012 to get any mention in the 2012 thread (I posted the new Golden Resurrection there, as it was on the internet since November). I'm adding it here, along with a couple of stuff we didn't check out in 2012!
(btw the intro of the song 'Last Free Land' gives me some serious 'Edguy-Judas at the Opera' vibes...not to mention she kinda sounds like the singer from Ancient Bards. That's a plus!)

Phew, added all of your suggestions plus lots of new material released in December - to - March (we missed two italian bands from 2012, namely Great Master and Hydro).

I've been spinning the new Amaranthe album and I can say that, while it doesn't bring anything new to the table (it's like a Vol. 2 for those who couldn't get enough of the debut), it's hella enjoyable and surely one of the top albums I've heard from 2013 so far.

Also, Epicrenel was another pleasant surprise, finnish melodic power that rivals most of Finland's prominent bands of the genre!

I'm currently waiting for the new Dreamtale, Kaledon and Gloryhammer to arrive. Will check out new Masterplan soon too.

I really like the style, catchy power metal with some cyber/electro influences, it sounds fresh and it's so fun to listen..

I love the album art. Especially Dignity and Vandroya.

Well, from what I've gone through so far (very little, in truth), I enjoyed Sacred Steel a surprising amount. Bit o' harsh vocals (only a taster here or there, really), the songs move about a bit (sometimes without cohesion, though) and they seem like a young bunch, from listening to them, some overzealous atheism at times...when they stick to songs like ''Black Tower'', I think they do more justice to themselves. Enjoyed some of Avantasia's latest effort, but a lot was just too pretentious for me (this is from someone who enjoyed most of ''The Scarecrow'', at the time at least). I seem to have a weird thing where I can love Sammet's vocals one song, and then hate them the next lol...

I highly recommend a band called Glory Hammer. They've just released a very good album called 'Tales From The Kingdom Of Fire'.

How're we all feeling about The Mystery of Time? It feels like a little disappointment to me (just a little one) but I'm letting that sit for a while before I make final judgement.

I really enjoyed Ecliption, Hammerforce was badass, and Serenity was definitely a stronger album than their previous. Heard some others and was generally impressed. Off to a fine start, 2013!

Great feather_light, I really like power metal. For now I am waiting The Storyteller new album Dark Legacy, if that can go into Power metal. Also if Eternal Tears of Sorrow latest, Saivon Lapsii can goes to power metal, that's be great as well.
