Glad to open a Cricket Thread the most followed and worshipped game in the Indian Subcontinent though i am pessimistic this thread will get many patrons
Updating India Won Vs The West Indies in West Indies it was the first match of the ongoing 5 match ODI series and will be followed by the test series.
Also Sri lanka Drew ther match with England as England dropped 9 catches and dropped the opportunity to go 1-0 up in the test series.

They may be numero uno (rightfully so, they probably have the best batting unit ever seen) in the current climate, but they've got some way to go before they're included in the same bracket as the Aussie teams of the '90s and early '00s , or the WI ones of the '70s. Their test record is rather woeful.

Indeed, the current Indian team is nowhere near the level of greatness of WI in the 70s and Australia of 90s and early 00s. I really don't see INdia winning three World Cups on the trot.

Never realized until last week that only Ian Botham and Imran Khan had ever scored a century and taken a ten for in the same test match. Great job by Shakib Al Hasan on joining those two truly greats.

It's definitely an achievement he can take heart from. A great player he is, maybe not Botham or Khan-level great but a genuinely world class player, being consistently rated number one in the all-rounder category for a good no. of years now. One can only hope he keeps the level up and his temperament in check, which is about the only achilles heel to his game.

Hope the guy recovers and pulls off a Jesse Ryder. Very unfortunate that this happened, even with protective gears.

And then to think that in the era of Jeff Thomson and Dennis Lillee most batsmen didn't even wear helmets.
imo protective gear gives a false sense of prtection and leads to a demise in batting technique.

Very sad news. He was a very talented Australian cricketer and especially in test format. I think Philip Hughes made into team for the first test against India next week.

But, it is very baffling to see that bowl has hit the side grill of helmet and injury was in middle of the head.

What a great start by Australia. 515/7 on second day closing.

Steve Smith has batted way better than Clarke and Warner. Although, Clarke and Warner batted terrific but the way Smith guided his innings was fantastic.

Virat Kholi is getting weak in bowling dept., he needs to rotate his spin bowlers quite well(especially dropping Ashwin out of the team).

Did you saw the dismissal of Maxwell in recent big bash league?

Well, I haven't seen any dismissal like that before.

That one was hilarious. I have never seen a dismissal like that before, not even in junior's cricket.

Here is a link to footage of it:

India down with 3 wickets for 64 in 15 overs. It'll be a real test before WC and I think in second half, pitch will behave differently and will spin.

England significantly screwed up in their opening match. They really need to figure out their strategies. I think KP's brawl with ECB is taking toll on players. Fuck it.

I was following it live on my computer. My God what an unbelievable innings. Shame SA didn't break the world record score for a 50 over ODI. Now The Netherlands still has that blemish against them conceding the record score runs at the hands of Sril Lanka about 8 years ago.

India opened up incredibly against Pak. Ireland stunned viewers of WC by beating the shit out of WI. A very lousy performance from Sri Lanka and England.

Looking forward to India v/s SA.

India ripped SA and throw out of the high-steam-fuelled-attitude today. What an awesome performance from blue jerseys. Whereas, Sri Lanka had a close encounter against mighty-turn-tighty Afghanistan.

Afghan on running streak to make into cadre likes of WI, Pak, Eng or Bangladesh.

I hope you'll beat the dead horse.

Lot of been put on stake against England as you not only through in semis but will place second(if Australia loses to SL by big margin today). Bangladesh need to bat really well and put up gigantic score and get England out before 35 overs to pick up a bonus.
