I just discovered this band a few days ago. Ad Hominem is black metal from France. I've only heard the album "Climax Of Hatred" wich I liked. Can anyone recomend other albums from them?

i reccomend not bothering with them. dreary, forgettable, unengaging rubbish. god knows why they're so popular

Climax Of Hatred is their best release, A New Race for a New World is also a somewhat good album. I never really liked Ad Hominem though, sometimes I enjoy a listen or to, but that's about it.

And because every band that adds industrial elements to black metal becomes immediately popular, doesn't matter how much they suck (The Kovenant, Aborym, Dodheimsgard)... it seems to be a very catchy element... didn't know that they were NSBM, though...

possibly. but they also seem to be very popular amongst the xasthur/leviathan etc crowd and featured on a split release with leviathan so probably gained some of their fans this way.

I agree about their music. They really aren't anything to write home about. I quite dislike the Industrial element in their music. Honestly there are much better french Black Metal bands..

and there are much better industrial bm bands aswell

by the way, in my humble opinion the mixture between black metal and industrial hadn't been well exploited... there is a lot of potential in that breed, but most of the bands that play it just drown in mediocrity...

I have become quite hooked on "Planet ZOG - The End" and "A New Race For A New World", I really like the vocals on them and the riffs are catchy as hell. Raw, and great. Still find the lyrical themes and ideology horrible, I mean "Auschwitz Rules"? Just horrible...

I have this strange tendency to start liking bands I once highly disliked... (Nokturnal Mortum, Deathspell Omega, Graveland...) and now Ad Hominem.
Feels rather wierd...
