Megadeth - David Draiman To Guest On New Album

It has just been confirmed, on Megadeth's official pages, that Disturbed vocalist David Draiman will guest on the group's upcoming album Super Collider which is set for release on June 4th through Mustaine's new label, Tradecraft. According to Dave Mustaine, the album's artwork has been concluded and the band plans to reveal some new tour dates next week.

Here's the official statement: "As if we weren't amped enough to get the new Megadeth album Super Collider in June, now the disc will pack an added punch. David Draiman of Disturbed/Device has joined Dave Mustaine in the studio to collaborate and appears on the album as a guest vocalist on the upcoming track entitled 'Dance In The Rain'. The new album is set for release on June 4."

Mustaine has also finalized the bands for Gigantour 2013 and more details about that should be revealed soon.

David Draiman is definitely a better vocalist than Dave, so this is good news!

Megadeth's version of St.Anger in 3..2..1..

They've already made that. It's called Risk.

Personally, I don't see what the problem with Draiman guesting on the new album is...

I'm down with this (or possibly the sickness... ). The way MegaDave are churning out albums, Mustaine could do with a break on vocals, and Draiman's alright. No, really.

Risk is a good album, you ***hole. Why don't you try to be less an elitist and more an enjoyer of music?

As long as Draiman doesn't tour with Megadeth it's fine by me. Draiman is the worst, most boring front-man in the history of music as far as I'm concerned. I'll never see a band of his again. Decent singer. Complete turd on stage.

Nice to see your opinion on Draiman guesting with Megadeth...

I am an enjoyer of music (when I'm not listening to metal, I'm usually listening to punk, folk, rock, hard rock and the occasional bit of classical music and pop. I'll generally listen to anything providing I like what it sounds like). I just don't like Risk that much as a Megadeth album because it's not what a metal band should be releasing under their name: on it's own merits, it's a decent enough album, but, with the Megadeth name attached, you have certain expectations of what it will sound like, next to none of which it matches beyond Mustaine being on vocals. It's the same problem I have with Tate's version of Queensryche's new album: if it was released under any other name, I'd probably say the single ("Cold") is decent, but, under the Queensryche name, you expect prog metal, which is not what it provides. In all honesty, I was more pointing out to BoxCar that Megadeth can't release their own version of St. Anger because that's what Risk is (and, even then, I meant in terms of reaction from the fans, not the overall quality), rather than saying "I hate this and everyone who disagrees with me is an asshole".

That said, I think Risk has some tracks that, if rewritten into the style you expect from Megadeth, would have the potential to be great live material. So, I don't completely hate Risk: I just think it would have benefitted from having a different name attached to it, since the Megadeth one is associated with metal, which Risk isn't. Under a different name, it would have had the chance to be judged without the reputation of the band and would have had a much better chance of being accepted.

Hope that clears up my thoughts on Risk for you.

Disturbed is AWESOME and David is a great vocalist. Device sucks pretty hard though. Hopefully the fantastic Megadeath song writing will let David shine! Should be a great track!

True enough.

...Hey, am I the only one who noticed that David Draiman is only going to be a guest on one song? All the comments I'm seeing makes it looks like you guys think he's going to do the vocals FOR Mustaine, or at least with Mustaine, throughout the whole album.
