Earth Blues, the 8th full length album by Sweden's Spiritual Beggars and I really didn't know how to put my thoughts into writing about their latest release. Don't get me wrong, I really dig it, and compared to their other albums this one has more "oomph" and depths to it. There are far less psychedelic infused songs on here, which maybe signals a new direction for the band.

Good album. I like it better than "Return to Zero" but still less than "Ad Astra", "On Fire" and "Demons".

That is one mighty fun album. I had no idea Michael Amott was in Spiritual Beggars. What a talented guy. For a guitar player who plays grindcore and gothenburg metal, he handles all the funky and bluesy parts masterfully, although one can hear occasional fallbacks to Arch Enemy-styled leads. The album itself is like an epitome of all the best things that blues rock has ever had to offer in a metal cover. Will check their back catalog as well.

Does Road To Madness remind anyone else of Ozzy Osbourne's Miracle Man?
