So, Jon Shaffer and his bunch of ever-changing musicians are back in town with release number eleven, after 2011's Dystopia that finally set the bar pretty high, after maybe too many years of... well, not mediocrity, but of music that didn't live up to Iced Earth standards.

Let me start this review by saying that I really like this album. I even prefer it over Dystopia, which is pretty good album in my opinion.

I can't wait for this. I'm a bit worried they've rushed it though. We shall see. The last album was awsome so you never know.

Looking forward to this release. Shame Brent's left, but love Stu Block's vocals - great singer. Hope this album has some really dark riffs.

What the?? It's on Spotify! I just saw this when I was gonna listen to the new live album. What's up with this? It hasn't even leaked, and it's streaming on there?

I'm in Norway though, and I don't know if they're gonna release it everywhere on Spotify, but it's available here at least. Just listened to Democide, and that was a pretty awesome track. Much more speedy than the title track.

I'm in the UK, and it's on my Spotify too! Strangely though, the song "Highwayman" is not available, even though the rest of the album is. Strange!

It's probably a some kind of bonus track as it's a cover. The band themselves announced the Spotify stream last night so it's not going anywhere.

Ah, I didn't realise it was a cover... it makes sense now why it's not available. Thanx for the info!

    Oh, ok cool! Thanks.

It doesn't seem as solid as Dystopia to me on the first listen, but I'll hold on judging it until I've listened through the whole thing a couple of times.

For the moment, this album is definitely inferior to "Dystopia", and actually challenges TCOM for the worst IE album. Most of the album is a snoozefest. "Among The Living Dead" and "Peacemaker" are great songs though!

Odd. To my ears this is maybe just slightly weaker than Dystopia (which, come on, had two terrible ballads and a weak closer), but still blows Framing and TCOM away. The main problem is the production. The drums are far too loud. But Democide, Among the Living Dead, Cthulhu, and Peacemaker are all great songs. Only 2 listens in, though.

Really great vocal performance on this album. Love it!

I think the vocals are rather boring. It's like Stu Block was on Jon's leash a bit too tight, bar a couple of tracks.

I had very little issue with any of Iced Earth's four previous singers, but I find Stu Block unbearable. It's still a much better album than Dystopia.

Typical average Iced Earth. So far I can't see why this is worse than Dystopia, that album is so boring. But being better than Dystopia isn't that difficult .

At least the same chorus isn't recycled all the time like on this one. The vocal melodies are much better overall on Dystopia, where Stu Block has more of his own thing going on as well.

This the best sounding Iced Earth album. The sound of drums is simply breathtaking, paired with deep bass, it's an unforgettable listening experience.
Stu Block is a perfect replacement for Matt Barlow.
The title track is one of the best Iced Earth songs.

And that's basically it. The rest is boring as shit. One of the weakest IE albums.
