Written by Rupert on 07.09.2013 at 19:03 There are elements of grind on the album, but for the most part the album sits somewhere between "Necroticism" and "Heartwork". It's not as harsh or as imaginative as the former, but it is more expansive, dynamic, and generally harsher than the latter. Jeff said that the grind parts of the album would go over most people's heads, because of the production, and I think he is right. For example, with a rawer, harsher production, the grindcore in songs like "Thrasher's Abbatoir", and "The Master Butcher's Apron", would be more pronounced, and obvious.

Great album, not better than Necroticism or Heartwork but better than Swansong; this band still kicks ass... I hope they release one or two more albums in the future.

I've never been a massive fan of Carcass, so to me this is another good album by them. But i'd imagine a die-hard fan would be pleased enough.
