There have been a lot of threads created in the past about this, but hopefully this can become the definitive guide to depressive bm. If you have any depressive bm bands you enjoy, please share them. I'll start by posting a few (I haven't heard all of them, but I plan to quite soon).
Burzum (Nothing more needs to be said, really)
Drudkh: Awesome band from the Ukraine, especially in terms of atmosphere. In terms of dbm, the first album is probably better than the latter ones (I only have Autumn Aurora which is stunning).
Krohm: Havent heard but plan to get 'A World through Dead Eyes' soon. I would like to hear some opinions.
Beatrik: Again, I only plan to get Journey through the End of Life. I would like some opinions.
Veil: Relatively unknown USBM band. I have heard good things about their release 'Dolor' available from Autumn Winds Prod.
I chose not to mention Xasthur, as I hardly find them depressive, just tedious. WAY overhyped due to this whole 'suicidal blackmetal' craze.
If anyone could post info on some Swedish dbm such as Hypothermia, Kyla, Durthang etc that would be excellent.
but the only black I do have something for.. its when its mixed with some Thrash.. like Aura Noir or Absu (The Third Storm of Cythraul for example) or Nocturnal Breed and Skeletonwitch...
That's good! There are many bands you should try out then: Melechesh, Absu or Byfrost would fit perfectly in your description of black/thrash. Byfrost latest from 2011 is pretty A.
well I do listen to absu haha I said it in the post, but thanks for the recommendations.

- I love my technical, melodic, my thrash, agressive and fast paced, my sludge, well thought, my heavy, heavier and my metal, ever-growing -

Oh, didn't see it. But if you like Absu there is a great posibility of you liking Melechesh as Proscriptor was also a member of Melechesh for a while. It's just that Melechesh like to put their folk style a bit more.

I'm currently listening to Zuriaake. It's pure majesty, no doubt about it.
Aye, good band. Check out Deep Mountains too if you like these kind of music. it's not depressive though, but it has this thick atmosphere that will put you in awe.

Yeah got it already. thought they were giving it away in their bandcamp page as well. Good album, nonetheless.

Not sure what I think about instrumental tracks being a comeback, but I suppose I'll have to listen before I make any legitimate judgment.
Both tracks are up on Youtube though. Typical Trist sound, only shorter.

That was going well until he started singing
It's not really singing it's more like Black Metal rap or something. I tried it in an attempt to come up with something new but it's probably too hard for most people to stomach. At least that makes me depressed

Not Depressive BM though. Good album/band, nonetheless!

Well, it's not making me want to go pick flowers, but I guess you're right. Still great though!
Allow me to make ammends:
Great song, highly recommended!

The band's name is terrible in my opinion, but the music isn't too shabby:
Nice song, it is very melodious : ) I feel some doom guitar mixed in : )
