It's never an easy job to review an Esoteric release. They have gained such a reputation for being one of the most unique and extreme bands in the Doom spectre that it is hard to oppose, they are almost untouchable - and with good reason. The fact is that "Subconscious Dissolution Into The Continuum" is not an easy listen. It's devoid of any pleasant human feeling; it's savagely cold, heavy and droning. It'll put you in a miserable state - yes, it is as fascinating as it seems.

Am I the only one who thinks this album could be better if it was longer?

nope, you're not. I agree with you. If this was their usual double album it would have been stronger.

Let's just pretend that they forgot to make it a double album with Metamorphogenesis.

At least the good part is that no one complains that their albums are too long and boring

This was the first album I listened to by Esoteric so I love it. I like how the melodies are rounded out from that ridiculously well done low end. There are some really cool details to hear in this album. Perspectively i'd say The Maniacal Vail was when the they really blasted off into the mental infinite and this album was when that threshold was being crossed.

Yeah, it's "bread and butter" Esoteric. One band's most "basic" album is better than most bands' "magnum opus" though.
