Cannibal Corpse - Begin Recording New Album This Weekend

Veteran death metallers Cannibal Corpse have been working on new material. The band is heading off to the studio this weekend to start tracking album number thirteen at Audio Hammer Studios with producer Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, DevilDriver). The band's bassist Alex Webster confirmed the news posting an image via Instagram with the caption: "Pat and Paul jamming new Cannibal songs. Recording starts this weekend."

This marks a change for the Buffalo boys as their last three albums were recorded with Hate Eternal's Erik Rutan, formerly of Morbid Angel and Ripping Corpse fame.

The big question that remains unanswered is whether Cannibal Corpse will embrace the trend of naming album number thirteen "13".

Apart from 13 hype, I'll still listen to 'em and see what they have done it.

I doubt they will named the album any sort of 13 related thing which is good. Their last 3 albums were all great so I'm quite excited to hear this

Talk about a band that is stuck in time and execute the same bland DM time after time. These guys fail to evolve and its the Blind Fanboys that let this band continue to put out their music. I dare Cannibal Corpse to prove me wrong with this new album ...

Damn man, I had never heard of them until you just mentioned it, but... Webster, The Faceless drummer, AND Jeff Loomis? Sounds like a match made in Heaven!

I dont quite see why everyone is all over the last 3 albums.. when compared to the musical merit of All the previous ones.. the last 3 were somewhat stale and bland generalized DM. I personally hope that this new album goes more the way of 'The Wretched Spawn' Or 'Gallery of Suicide' which were my two favourites by far, Especially since gallery had the Only instrumental track And it(the track) was Awesome <3. I believe those two had the most musical merit and would love to see some more of that.
