As a band seemingly at the brink of defeat and dissolution, Evergrey have returned with surprising resolve on their latest record, and, with themes of revolution in mind, Hymns For The Broken resounds with renewed inspiration and restored integrity.

My excitement is palpable across the many galaxies of the universe

That first video re-kindled good old nostalgia yet added new touches, Danhage (sp?) returning I'm very excited for this. I one time drove 6 hours to see this band live.

Danhage and Jonas returning are big for me. Danhage/Englund guitar combo is great. His lead playing coupled with Tom's is immense!

I had the privilege of being able to attend a pre-listening session of this album. I must say it is amazing, unfortunately we only listened to twice. For me that is not enough to write a more detailed review, as I need to able to listen to the material in tranquility. But from what I have heard, we are in for a real treat!

Just bought it. I feared that just the song on YouTube was good. But after the first listen Evergrey doesn't dissappoint me.

Good to hear. I feel bad for this band. Seems they can never catch a break. Remember when all their gear got stolen on tour? Was heart-breaking.

Can anyone tell me if King of Errors sets the tone for the rest of the album? If so, then I'll pass on this one.

It's quite varied actually, much like their albums written in their former glory. You'll have to see for yourself

wow, no kidding? I thought Torn & Glorious Collision were very well put together but I guess we Evergrey fans are pretty tedious at times. I've never heard anything by them that I thought "sucked" & having attended the PPUSA listening party for this album, all i could say was "holy shit" over & over. I do think this is an album that grows on you also so I'll reserve any final thoughts for a little down the road.
Enjoy the ride!

I enjoyed both albums and they have great songs, but there was something missing that now as returned to their sound.

Awesome comeback. It's more or less in the same vein as the previous couple of albums, but in terms of quality this one is way ahead of them.
