The band is formed in 1993 and consists of only Shamaatae as sole member
Arckanum performs raw, primitive black metal
Few bands are as committed to their subject matter as Arckanum,
whose interest in the pagan 'old ways' of their Viking ancestors and
open worship of the God Pan transcend mere curiosity towards sheer obsession.

Written by Oaken on 11.07.2012 at 02:43 Check 'em all. Not one bad release. Maybe Arckanum is releasing to much stuff the last years: 4 full lengths, a split and a couple of EP's in 4 years. As long they're good it's ok for me, but I doubt he can continue like this.

Old primitive stuff like Fran Marder is also excellent.... The three last full lenght are a bit to close, and follow the same (great) formula.... but PPPPPPPPPP is by far the best, the other two being pale comparison, even if they still have very good riffs (specially Helvítismyrkr). If he continues with the same trend of releases, I don't think it will be the best of ideas, have the feelling it's a bit rushed.
