It was hinted At The Edge Of Time. A new symphonic focus and refinement that would bring Blind Guardian's sound fully into modern times. Production has never been as important in showcasing yet another distinctive album experience in their pioneering style of power metal. What lies beyond is assurance as much as surprise.

They are really talking this album up. I hope it lives up to expectations - but hey, it is Blind Guardian we are talking about here.

One of the few bands that I never lose faith in. Even at their worst, Blind Guardian at least try and try hard. The previous album was a real return to form and I am really looking forward to this one. Good luck, guys!!!

The hype is OVER NYAN-THOUSAAAAAND!!!!

According to the upgrades made by the band about this album, it points to be a more speedy and aggresive release, with so many of the new stuff added in ATEOT (specially the orchestral stuff).

Totally excited, they have yet to disappoint me with their work. Great band.

Can't wait... but why every band must have song called "Twilight of the Gods"

Because Bathory, yo.

But Helloween had one before Bathory. I wonder who had one first?

Maybe not the first ever, but just to illustrate that we can go back in time way further than the 1980s:

There are very few bands that forces me into bouts of mindless fandom.

Blind Guardian is one of them (which is weird cause I'm not really a power metal person)

Progressive power metal.. Oh yeah! Without any doubt the album will be great. As for me this band does not have weak albums at all..

I've been listening to it a few times now. Ever since A Night of the Opera I've found BG to become more "chaotic". It feels like the songs very rarely land in a riff or motif of some kind, with the exception of catchy and bombastic choruses. There's no red thread in the songs. And even the choruses feel a bit flat compared to something like Time Stand Still (at the Iron Hill).

Still, it's better than the previous two albums.

Just listened to a torrent and I think it's phenomenal. This band never disappoints! Excited for my CD to arrive when it does.

The album just isn't up to par. I agree with phanto. There's too much chaos, too little focus. I mean, it's still good. But good isn't good enough for BG.

Been listening to this for the past few days and it's hard to say any part of it gave that orgasmic feel you get from Guardian's past albums
It's a good release overall, good writing and production but not what I was expecting from those guys

For me, getting hooked on BG via their last album, then retroactively working my way back through their discography (ATEOT & Night at the opera being my personal favorites), I don't think this album lived up to all the hype, and I love me some BG. It's good, but there weren't any songs that gave me the same full-body chills as previous songs like Sacred Worlds or Wheel of Time delivered.

My personal favorite song from this album is The Throne.
