Intervals - Part Ways With Singer

It seems like the time of singer Michael "Mike" Semesky in Intervals only lasted about a year. The band added a vocalist to the equation for the first time ever but they have now parted ways with him. What happened? Well, guitarist Aaron Marshall didn't really specify that or say much about it. Intervals will be holding an audition process for the new vocalist instead of going back to being a strictly instrumental band.

Aaron Marshall said in a statement: "Hey everyone, Aaron here. We would like to take a minute to get you guys up to speed on things. It is with a heavy heart, that we announce to you all, that we have decided to part ways with our singer, Mike Semesky. To give you some background, Mike initially joined the band, filling in on bass guitar when the band was still strictly an instrumental entity. With a few tours under our belts with Mike, we realized that we all shared a chemistry, and decided to entertain a curious desire of all of ours, which was to write our debut record, with a vocalist. Writing and recording A Voice Within was a gratifying and enlightening experience and touring in support of that record with Mike this past year, has been nothing short of spectacular. With that said, we have reached a fork in the road that is this journey, and have come to an amicable parting of ways. We wish Mike the best in future endeavours and beyond.

"Since the beginning, Intervals has always been about sharing the joy and passion we all have for music, together. When things began, I had one song and no clue what I was doing or what the future held. You all welcomed the sounds I hear in my head with open ears, minds, and hearts. Your warm reception and encouragement made it possible to have connected with Anup and Lukas and fully realize the band's potential as well as giving us the ability to tour and play music for you all. We are nothing short of grateful to all of you and will continue to do so. When we announced the addition of a vocalist to the band, initially, it was met with mixed emotions. However, this past year, we have enjoyed nothing more, than to connect with you guys, not only musically, but beyond that. We live for that vibe we all feel, when we're sharing a verse or a chorus, together. Those are the tangible moments that keep us constantly yearning to make music what we live for. We understand that the choice to do so was not for everyone, and we do create this music for you guys, but we also make it for ourselves. Bringing a vocalist into the fold is something we and our team still stand by and will continue to stand by. We are the same three people, with the same musical identity, and that won't be changing any time soon.

"With all of that said, we will be holding an audition process for the role of the band's vocalist. We are seeking a charismatic and talented front man who is willing to dedicate themselves to Intervals. We are in search of someone with a natural talent for the craft of singing, and the ability to confidently front our band. Additional traits, such as the ability to scream are an added bonus, however we are focusing on the fidelity of your natural singing voice.

"To audition, we require that you record your vocals to the instrumental versions of 'Moment Marauder' or 'Ephemeral' from our album A Voice Within, available via the link below. We would also prefer that you include a video of your performance. Please consider that we are looking for someone with the ability to perform our existing material properly, but with their own unique and creative approach to the songs, as well as someone with the potential to grow and evolve with the band in future material. Submissions are to be sent to intervalsauditions@gmail.com and don't forget to include your name, age, location and links to any previous work that you would like us to see and hear. Thank you for your continued support. This is a very exciting time for Intervals and we are looking forward to the future."

I'm not really sad, Aaron can find a better singer easily.
