Anyone into Reino Ermitaño? they're a fantastic stoner, psychedelic doom band from Peru, signed to I Hate Records...
very enjoyable although I wouldn't call them psychedelic.
You're probably righ, although the term "psychedelic" is a more appreciative than descriptive word... this band really manage to work in your senses, especially when you see them live, as I had the oportunity once... but yes, I am myself an enemy of putting too many words for describing a band's music and in Reino Ermitaño's case just Doom Metal would be enough.

Would Godflesh or the Sword count? They both seem to have some stoner and doom element in their music.

Just found a band called Planet Gemini. They have released about two albums per year since 2002, but what I've heard of it, it sounds quite good. The band has a very heavy Sabbath influence, along with several other leanings. The thing is, they offer plenty of their material for free on their website and myspace. Not groundbreaking, but not bad either. Good stuff.

Why not? They play industrial metal. I don't find it that difficult.
Totally NOT stoner and doom if you ask me.

The Sword would definitely be considered as stoner, but I'm not sure if they have that much doom influence, but I could be wrong. Great band though.
What I love about these genre's is that its one big incestual orgy.

I think they're just industrial metal, we could discuss for long about that, but in what everyone should agree is that Godflesh have nothing to do with this thread...

Shouldn't it be housed with doom, since stoner is only a modifier and doom is the primary genre?

problem is most stoner has nothing to do with doom.

Doom is spread and seems to get categorized based upon dominant trait.
classic/trad in melodic
funeral in extreme
stoner seems most logical here.

Not sure if Samsara Blues Experiment and Sleestak has any doom influence in them.. definitely stoner though. But yeah, good list!

They definitely have more of a psychedelic bent to their sound but the often slow tempo, heaviness and ominous feel lead me to refer to them as loosely doom.

These guys are good friends of mine. We have gigged together quite often and they play some awesome stoner doom. They have just released their debut album. It's on bandcamp and you can buy physical copies along with some really cool bundles.

I personally think doom is a category on its own, but if we have to put them into those three I agree.
