Ghost B.C. - New Album In The Works

After releasing their latest album Infestissumam back in 2013 as well as the covers EP If You Have Ghost, it's time for Ghost B.C. to work on new material again. The Swedish entity recently released an update confirming that they are preparing a new record that should come out next year. Let the anticipation begin...

Here is their message to the fans: "Children of the World! We hope that you are enjoying the end... of the year. We would just like to tell you all that we are currently crafting a new album to be released next year and we can't wait to shed some light on the details about it. Until then though - Happy Holidays!"

What are your hopes for the new Ghost B.C. record? They have stated in some interviews that the new album should be "more metal" than Infestissumam.

Would be funny if they just released a death metal album.

Many would likely welcome a death metal album with a heavy dose of their particular brand of 70s psychedelia in the mix.

And if the rumor is true that Papa Emeritus is indeed Mary Goore from Repugnant then at least one member of the band is definitely capable of writing both death metal and psych rock/metal.

Check out Tobias Forge(Mary Goore)'s other project Subvision. In my opinion it is pretty much a done deal.

That's what I was subtly referring to
You're right though, I'd love some psychedelic death metal. I'd much prefer it to Ghost's current sound actually.

I don't mind Ghost's current sound, but I'd definitely love a DM version of it, especially if it's on quality level with Repugnant.

Will they pretend to change singers again? Unveil Papa Emeritus III?

It was only a rumour in 2010, 2011 after that it was a public secret and earlier this year it was revealed that Ghost's vocalist is indeed Tobias. Anyone with ears on their heads had already heard it since Papa sounds the same as the vocalist of Subvision which is indeed Tobias of Repugnant.

I would call that band pop rock at most, so not surprising many a metal fan hasn't heard about it.

If they are going more heavy, that would be like their first amazing album. So I am totally in. I love whatever Ghost does anyways, they are great song-writers, so if they use that heavy vibe they had earlier I AM STOKED!

I never would have even considered them a metal band until i found their profile on here labelling them partially as Heavy Metal. I'd call them Dark Psychedelic Rock or something.
