Cobalt - Reveal New Album Cover And First Details
The highly anticipated new album from black metallers Cobalt is coming out this March via Profound Lore Records and the first details have just been revealed. For now, we already know that the new album will be titled Slow Forever and it's a double album with vocals from Charlie Fell (ex-Lord Mantis, Nachtmystium, Abigail Williams). The cover art, done by Jimmy Hubbard, is a combination of photography, sketches, ink blots, and a little bit of digital manipulation. Feast your eyes on it below.

Written by Guest on 19.01.2016 at 14:07 The artwork is in the okay-ish range indeed... I'm sure that a more organic approach (=less digital manipulation) would have made it better. Regarding the double album thing, I'm extemely curious. My bet is on interludes and ambient sections a la Eater Of Birds. But yeah, expectations are ridiculously high for this one. I don't ant to cripple myself for that by wishing for too much but it's Cobalt ffs!

Holy shit. I can't believe it's almost been 7 years since Gin came out. I credit that album for drawing me towards more extreme forms of metal. They bridged the gap between what I loved about bands like Tool and what I came to love about extreme metal.
