I made it about half way before listening to something else. I can't say that there's really anything wrong with it, but it's not for me at any rate. Especially 80 minutes of it.

Especially 80 minutes of it.

84 minutes, to be more precise

Listen to the other half tomorrow and tell me how it is. I'm lazy (and kind of busy).

Haha, I will try. I'm also lazy, but not really busy so I have no excuse not to.

I'm really digging it... It may be a matter of alcohol in my blood though

I'm digging it, but I can tell I am going to need to spend some time with it to really take it in. As of right now, I feel like a lot of the songs could be shorter and more concise, but they have not been so long as to annoy me.

Ok, so I have time now and I'm currently finishing the first song and my reaction is the following:

Guys, why the fuck couldn't you just present this song and leave it at that? It's such a strong opener. Seriously, I'm really liking it and even Fell's voice is much stronger and nastier than on the other tracks previously released. At points he even sounds like on the glorious Lord Mantis' Pervertor. There is a break with a moan-turning-into-a-scream that sounds fucking great. It's not like it's a OMGWOW masterpiece. But Hunt The Buffalo is definitely a well written song that doesn't feel as long as it is.

I'm gonna be cautious about it. But I'm more curious than I was a couple of days ago.

The songs drag, again, again, again... and again. And again. And again. it's not bad, just incredibly meh compared to their old stuff and Fell's vocals quickly get annoying.

Oh, and some of the riffs are the exact same as in Gin.

Idk. I've listened to Gin and it was amazing. Much better than Eater Of Birds. I've never listened to Slow Forever but I listeneed to Storm Of The Light's Bane. So if it sounds just like it then I would probably rate it a 9/10..................

So, probably going to be one of the most hyped of the year then

Cobalt is not a very popular band, underservedly, or not. So I wouldn't expect too much hype about the album's quality or lack thereof.

The fact that the band's premier was on Pitchfork suggests that the band has a modicum of hype and popularity about it.
