Amaranthe - Debut New Track And Video

Today is the day for Amaranthe fans. You get to listen to a brand new song from the Swedish group! In fact, it's the first single off of Maximalism (out via Spinefarm Records on October 21st), the follow-up to Massive Addictive. Is it any good? Hear "That Song" yourself right now here. The band also made a video for it, directed by Patric Ullaeus.

Ack! Damnit! So they did decide to make the switch from Pop Metal to Metal Pop. Yuck! I had a feeling it was coming, but was hoping for at least another album or 2 of Amaranthine Pop Metal.

I don't think this represents the style of whole album. Some sort of joke, then again it's the third song on the album Who knows let's wait and see, but song is not good.

Not really digging it... wayyyy too pop.

In all honesty though, Drop Dead Cynical was pretty similar pop-shit and Massive Addictive still turned out good as a whole so still holding out hope for the album.

Fellas, this is just 1 song. Massive Addictive had a shit single too and it turned out to be decent. So don't sing the band's demise yet.

I felt something isn't right just from the title of the song, this is pretty lame even as a pop song. The previous album was lame too you can just pick 1-2 decent songs from it. I'm one step ahead from un-following this band on here lol

Awlways eager to know about bands I had never listened to before but a few seconds were enough to know that this "thing" I would never like. Will check older tracks to see if that band was rightfully labelled "industrial metal" as all I could hear was mainstream pop shit.

Way, way too glam influenced for my tastes. But the last three seconds suggested that the rest of the album does not sound ilke this, so I'm not too bummed out.

Amaranthe has always been pop-metal. But they're the most shameless kind of poppy industrial power metalcore. They knew exactly what kind of band they were and as a result actually are very enjoyable when you get over the initial "what the fuck is this" hurdle. Whenever I had a sugary pop craving, they replaced Katy Perry in my library.

I rather like The Nexus, and the last one was decent if not as good. This song was abysmal. Jeez, hope it's the worst song off the new album, else I fear it's gonna kinda suck

Ha! Hi-larious. My 4 year old son and 2 nieces (3 and 1.5) love Katy Perry and they are constantly demanding to watch her videos on YouTube, so I've been trying to replace her with Amaranthe in their minds, but to no avail as they still prefer Katy Perry. So annoying...
