The new Manchester Orchestra is really really good.

This might be old but this is going to be on the new Perturbator EP "New Model" so posting this and also because it is the most interesting and unique track from him I've heard till date.

If you're into 90s power/garage pop like, Weezer with awesome squeaky female vocals, you need to check out Charly Bliss. Ridiculously fun and catchy, although maybe a little samey for a full album's length. It's like back to your childhood bedroom and party like it's '97.

Whole thing is out:

Must say this is the most interesting Perturbator I've heard.
Except Sexualizer which is a personal favorite given it's simplicity, lightness and straight to the point (party hard music ), I've always considered the other albums/eps to have a few fillers and hit&miss. Couldn't fully get behind the inconsistency and had to cherry pick the tracks.

But New Model is on another level, he really raised the bar. Fucking good from start to finish. Even the vocal track is great (and I use to dislike Perturbator's vocal tracks or those more ambient tracks....). Last few minutes on God Complex are sooooo good! And an example on how the songwritting here is miles above his previous stuff.

Gonna be among the tops of 2017.

Yet another one by this guy. Prolificness apart he's still one of the best songwriters of the scene imo, losing probably just to Dan Terminus and the other obvious big names

On her third album, Torres has gone harsher and a bit electronic. Not sure how I feel about the whole album but this does have a nice retro vibe. Some people said Siouxsie and the Banshees, I also thought of Silver Apples (on this song anyway). St. Vincent also a touchstone for other songs.

Either way it's a good album. The two previous, especially the debut, were some of my favorites ever though, to put my hesitation into context.

I'm a big Torres fan. I love her two other albums and I love this new one as well. I'm been listening to it since it was released. I think it has plenty to discover, certainly with a retro vibe and St. Vincent influence is there but it's still innovative and Torres.

I like the new direction she's exploring. It's still classy.

Since you like Torres, have you tried Julien Baker? I feel like you would like her, given your tastes. I discovered her recently and it's great stuff.

I don't think I have. The name is vaguely familiar and it seems I've added one song on a playlist to check out but never got around to it. Cheers, sounds good!

A touch of dubstep and techno this time. Anyway sounds like it's going to be a great album again

That's surprising, honestly. Music taste shouldn't affect what one likes to do for fun, of course.

That joke about surf versions of BM classics actually gave me a reason to check some surf rock a few years back. No expert obviously but I enjoy stuff like The Ghastly Ones or Satan's Pilgrims. And this song is strikingly "black metal", pounding drums and riffing, awesome shit:

Nice little album this. Experimental something, instrumental, post-rockish vibes or more on top, not sure how to describe it. The song DEPTH CHARGE is seriously good. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
