If Ulver were one of the X Men characters, they'd easily be Mystique. Ever changing, always in a state of flux, and able to morph their identity with incredible ease. When we last left off, Ulver dropped that "Zodiac Album" with the unpronounceable title. Highly psychedelic, jammy, and meditative, if you know the band and what they're all about by now, you know there's only one thing you can ever expect next out of them: the unexpected.

Vocals make a comeback on a Ulver song after a really loooooooooooong time. Despite being 0% metal or even 0% rock, this is actually good for what it is.
Where is it streaming in full though? Am I missing something?

This is everything I was hoping for after hearing that one track they shared.... and even a bit more. "So fucking sexy," indeed

Agree, the whole thing is very Depeche Mode and '80s-'90s pop electronica influenced. Actually, it's better than anything DM have made in donkey's years. It has a dark element and doesn't sound bad at all, on the contrary I found it very enjoyable and the production is just out of this world. Oh, and there's nothing remotely sounding metal in it.
Not bad, but why this is on Metalstorm ? Do we have an opportunity to vote for Justin Bieber too ? Ulver may be on Metalstorm as a band due to it's past, but hey, what the heck ? Electronic pop album No 1 ? cmon brozas yo !
Uh, yeah, on topic. So, this is a great album guys, check it out. It's not metal though, in case you weren't aware that Ulver stopped playing black metal.
If this really sounds like Depeche Mode and such then I am steering clear of it, since I really don't like anything by Depeche Mode and such bands at all.

So, I take it you won't be going to their album release show at Roadburn then?

cuz its wrong for ulver to be here at all. I will remove my 1 when Depeche Mode, Systers of Mercy, and, yeah Justin Bieber will be added to Metalstorm
The rating is about the album, not MS. If you think Metalstorm is making a mistake, there are other ways to say that (forums, contact etc). You should not give a bad rating just because it has bad categorization or because its not metal. I think it's better to not vote at all than giving them a 1. Metalstorm does not remove bands because they "suck", so you are not doing anything good to get this out of MS.
I'm digging this album a lot!. Some of my favorite songs on the album so far are "So Falls The World," "Southern Gothic," and "Angelus Novus." This band never disappoints no matter which direction they go! I happen to love synthpop a'la Depeche Mode, so this album is right up my alley.
