I loved Isa, and have not anything else from them. I want to listen to their new album. I loved Isa !!

I'm one of those that enjoy much more later Enslaved rather than what they did until "MArdraum"... for me "Below The Lights" is their brightiest piece, a glorious viking/progressive fussion that gave as result a very well played and creative album, touching and fresh... their new one "Ruun" is also one of the highlights of the year so far.

OK, in the old thread I said I was a bit undecided on Ruun. But it's a very complex album that takes many listens to fully appreciate. At first I wondered whether I was listening to Opeth or to Enslaved, but once you get over the fact that there aren't any Viking bits on this album apart from the lyrics, it's fantastic. The atmosphere isn't as good as previously, but it's still a great album.

My favourite albums would have to be Vikingligr Veldi, Frost, Eld, and Below the Lights. Isa was fantastic too, but not as good as those ones IMO.

I've only got Ruun, but I like it. Think I'll be getting more from these guys. They're touring the UK with Zyklon and 1349 in September, so I think I'll check that out!

I like some of their older stuff, but a lot of their songs feature the same guitar riffs throughout.

Now Ive heard the entire Ruun album, I can say that although it is a brilliant album... It doesnt match the standards of 'Isa'.

Wow, that ought to be some tour... Count me in....

They are excellent, indeed. Probably the only black metal band that I listen to nowadays. Besides Ulver´s "Nattens Madrigal", of course.
I currently dig "Below the Lights" the most from them.

Damn, I am entirely satisfied with RUUN. Enslaved restored my interest in black metal once again. Although I am not sure if it´ s even black metal - it´ s just good music.

Listening to the sweet title song at the moment...

Their new video turned out to be pretty good. About Ruun. It is a good album, better than Isa and even one of the best releases this year. Enslaved I been better and better over the years. They are also one of the best bands from Norway. Ruun is my favourite from them so far.

I posted this in the old forum, going to request again here. I purchased Monumension via theend records and while the CD plays in a traditional player, no pc will read it - so I can not add it to my mp3 player of doom... if anyone is capable of helping me out wtih the mp3's to that album, I would greatly appreciate it.

(I've been debating just contacting the official band website to see if they could help me out)

I just want to add, I believe all UK dates have Zyklon, Keep Of Kalessin and 1349.

This is one of the best and more listenable black metal bands. They are not quite the traditional black metal they have more progression in their music which is quite good and I think that many will agree with me on this. I haven't heard all of the albums, infact I haven't heard the newer ones and from what I hear they have more progressive sound and are less in black metal style. I have heard the older albums (Frost, Blodhemn, Eld, Vikingligr Veldi) but I haven't heard them closly enough to understand them really, except for Frost which is and excelnt album and some say that it's the best Enslaved release. And now you got me interested and I'm gonna listen to every Enslaved album closly and get more familiar with the black metal cause I don't like the satanic and antichrist black metal bands and the old schoold black metal, but Enslaved is definetly a band I can appreciate.

Enslaved is another brilliant band from Norway. Ruun, Isa, Frost, and Blodhemn are my favorite Enslaved albums.

They are okay.......I only like their earlier, more black metal-related material. I find their new stuff to be very boring and i don't know, i must be missing something......

I must be vary crazy but I actually discovered Enslaved's music a week ago when I bought "Ruun". I was fuckin amazed and I am definitly going to check out maaany of their albums!

I have only one recording from this band split album with Emperor

I'm not best judge for BM but it is raw stuff

Hm I dont agree whit you about that, because its there are some good band stoo, but thay hawnt ost thay music quality after years and its ,ore black/viking metal, ehh thay hear Immortal demo 'enslaved till rot'' and from that omes band name

theese guys canceled their concert I was going to I am very sad. A great band nonetheless!

I enjoy every Enslaved album, although the middle era (Blodhemn to Isa) to a lesser extent. "Vikinglgr Veldi" is simply amazing, as is the song "793: Slaget Om Lindesfarne".

That album... I discovered it only later and yes, I would agree that is an awesome one... crushingly epic (if that word still means something in Metal) in a very dark way, with a very hypnotic mood in all the songs... I wouldn't call it a masterpiece but is an awesoe album anyway.

Enslaved going to wacken 2007! I hope they wont cancel this one
