Primus - Announce New Album


Primus has announced a new album, The Desaturating Seven, to be released September 29th via ATO, and have released a new track. This is the first Primus album since 1995 to feature the classic lineup of Les Claypool, Larry LeLonde, and Tim Alexander. They have also expanded their tour, and will be playing in Brooklyn on Halloween. You can stream the song "The Seven" here.

Way better than the last project they did. The Willy Wonka one was rather lackluster. This fucking slays. Classic Primus.

I don't know what it is about bands like Primus and Mr. Bungle, but I can't stand to listen to it at all. It strikes me as either shameless wankery in Primus' case or being stupid noise for stupid noise's sake in the case of Mr. Bungle. And I have no idea why that doesn't somehow appeal to me, given that I think that bands like the Butthole Surfers and Killdozer and Sonic Youth and Big Black are actually good.
