Godflesh - Releasing New Album In November

The wait for new material from Godflesh is almost over! Over 2 years in the making, the industrial group's new album is called Post Self, which according to the label "explores the less 'metal' side of Godflesh; taking in the formative influences, and spitting out something more informed by late 70's early 80's post punk and industrial than it is anything metal related." Avalanche Recordings will release the album on November 17th. If that isn't enough to get you excited, check out the album details below.

Their previous release, A World Lit Only By Fire, came out in 2014.

Tracklist:

01. Post Self
02. Parasite
03. No Body
04. Mirror Of Finite Light
05. Be God
06. The Cyclic End
07. Pre Self
08. Mortality Sorrow
09. In Your Shadow
10. The Infinite End

The description sounds like this could be a sound closer to Pure which certainly explored a lot of non-metal elements. I'm really intrigued!

Haha... Justin has referred to Pure as their take on a metal album... so not likely. Though I do really like the album, including the closing more ambient piece.

Well, the dude from Children Of Bodom thoughtn they played black metal. So it's not rare for musicians to be out of their element. Pure is clearly less metal and more alternative than Streetcleaner. Damn, the beats are even hiphop at times.

Judging from the description, it could be closer to Streetcleaner (where there's plenty of industrial, Swan, and Killing Joke influences, so not really metal) than to Pure

Anyway, I'm curious to hear that one!

We'll see. I have a weird feeling this album's thread here is going to be long.

Hoping for Justin's Killing Joke influences to come through heavily here.

I would love something sounding like Slavestate. Their last album was nothing special, time to experiment more.
