I honestly hope he is just very successful at trolling. I find him hilarious with the language he uses in his reviews and stuff, but I also get why no one wants to be roasted by their peers
01. IX 02. What The Dead Men Say 03. Catastrophist 04. Amongst The Shadows And The Stones 05. Bleed Into Me 06. The Defiant 07. Sickness Unto You 08. Scattering The Ashes 09. Bending The Arc To Fear 10. The Ones We Leave Behind
The Sin And The Sentence got Trivium back on track after the misfire that was Silence In The Snow. What The Dead Men Say doesn't derail the Trivium express, but it's not quite a fulfilment of the promise of its predecessor.
Sounds similar to the stuff on their last album, which isn't a bad thing, but I do miss the days of Shogun/Ascendancy.
Hopefully they will vary the song structures a little more on this one (more 7min+ songs please) as I felt this was the weak point in their last release.
Florida-based metallers TRIVIUM have released the official Ryan Mackfall-directed video for "What The Dead Men Say", the title track of their upcoming ninth album. Due on April 24 via Roadrunner Records, the LP will be the follow-up to "The Sin And The Sentence", which came out in October 2017. That effort marked the band's first release with drummer Alex Bent, who joined TRIVIUM in 2016.

Don't think I can bring myself to says its quite up with in waves and shogun like tsas was. Still good. Sickness unto you, catastrophist and bending the arc to fear.
On first listen I thought it was decent but a clear step below TSATS, will have to see if a few repeat listens alter that but I suspect not. This latest drummer is a major coup for them though, he's fantastic
My order of preference:
1. Shogun - 10/10
2. Ascendancy - 9.5/10
3. In Waves - 9/10
4. The Sin And The Sentence - 8.5/10
5. What The Dead Men Say - 8/10
6. The Crusade - 7.5/10
7. Ember to Inferno - 7/10
8. Vengeance Falls - 7/10
9. Silence In The Snow - 6/10
I'd move VF above this album and dock 0.5-1 point from most of the other scores, but that ranking's pretty close to how I'd do them I guess I'd probably go:
Ascendancy - 9.5
Shogun - 9
In Waves 8-8.5
TSATS - 8
Vengeance Falls - 7.5
WTDMS - on second listen, it's in the 7-7.5 tier
The Crusade - 6.5
Ember To Inferno - 6.5
Silence In The Snow - 5.5
I still think Ascendancy is god-tier, but aside from Silence In The Snow, they've managed to transition successfully into the post-Shogun era, and whilst I don't see myself revisiting the new one regularly, it's turned out better than I was fearing as the singles kept dropping
This might be the first Trivium album I have ever listened through, and I liked it. Unlike many other bands around, they seem to have a personality of their own, even if it means some pop and metalcore influences here and there. I think the right word here is "refreshing". Maybe I should check Shogun next.

You've got a lot of guts. Let's see what they look like!
I like how thety mix clean vox whit harder vox, many bands whit such music would growl, do harsh, this mixes and it works
I like most what the dad man say, I like how he did small calm parts in among the shadows n stones but best is bleed into me.

What the dead men say, Catastrophist, amongst the shadows and the stones, sickness unto you are amazing! The rest are good but not on the same level. The sin and the sentence was near the perfect this album does not reach the same level but a good effort🤘🏻🤘🏻
First Katatonia and now Trivium, are you the new troll in town? How old are you 15? Did you discover your black metal yesterday? Congrats
Are you fucking stalking me? What is it with you people? I have to like the same shit as you other wise there's something wrong with me? You need to get your head examined

Funny you say "i have to like the same shit as you", because the Katatonia album you commented on is, in my opinion, plain bad. I remember I was around 16 when I started to listen to "trve" metal, and I would talk shit about Mastodon (which is a band that to this day im not a fan) in a portuguese metal forum with the same kind of words as you. Everything that was out of my greater taste for music was shit and I would insult said bands/tastes/genres as you have been doing in metalstorm.
I have to agree with people saying that this is not as good as their last album, but it's still enjoyable. Really cool to see that one of the bands that I started my journey into metal with (actually the first live concert I attended was from them) is still quite relevant in their genre and that I can still with confidence say, that this is a solid band producing solid music. Can't say the same about the vast majority of stuff that I listened to in my first years.
I think I am liking it more than the Sin and the Sentence. More songs are growing into me. In Sin i had 4 songs getting repeated while this one has 7 including the intro.
