Exodus has pretty much saved the lineup IMO. Was pretty dire beforehand :X

And still is IMO, but then again Wacken's line-up has ALWAYS been dire. So I can't understand the fuss about this festival the last couple of years.

40,000 tickets have been sold already. I hope they won't sell as many tickets as last year. That was definitely too full

yep, it looks like it will happen..

"There´s an unbelievable run for the W:O:A 2008 tickets! At the turn of the year we already nearly sold 40.000 tickets and assume to be sold out in april because of the maximum capacity of 65.000 tickets"

even if they made the ground a little bigger, they would just squeeze more people in..
that was the worst thing about Wacken by far.. the amount of people.

Wasn't it like 80,000 tickets sold last year? If so, then the limit of 65k gets my full support.

I don't really know, I would have assumed it was 65,000 last year as well.. but if they have cut down the number then great!! I can't see that happening though really.. all that extra money they would be missing out on..

OK, got a question for all of you who've been there before, can I bring a trailer or a car-trailer?
I mean instead of sleeping in a tent. Do they allow that?

And now it turns out that the UK Cynic won't be playing either, because the Wacken organizers thought they were dealing with the US Cynic and later on found out it was a different Cynic. Hahhahahaha

According to Cynic's UK drummer, Wacken's promoter had had telephone calls to England to negotiate with the band, so didn't he just think for a moment, why is he calling England vs US. and why are the guys speaking with a British accent vs American! :

yes, I found that crap as well, removing a band just like that. And like you said, it is stupid the organizers hadn't figured out that they were talking to the wrong band.

I know! and you know what, it is the organizer's fault, the band shouldn't pay for it! they should have had both Cynics there if they desperately need Cynic US in Wacken 08!

hahaha,, I think It would be fun indeed, especially when the fans realize they got to the "other" Cynic stage.. haha, and then they fight their way through to the other stage

Van Canto, Axel Rudi Pell and now Ensiferum - this festival is finally getting the good bands And then they should have both bands play at exactly the same time, on completely different places of the festival ground. That should be a lot of fun.

I still wait for Necrophagist and Morbid Angel, I saw they were playing on the hellfest, so why not at wacken !!! so I wait ...

I'm dying to go to Wacken!! But unfortunately I don't have the money to take a trip to Europe anytime soon. who wants to start a fund to send there this year? We desperately need festivals like this in the US.
