Personally...
- (As you *might* have noticed) I speak English. Not really well, but I think I can say I know the basis. But it is not my first language: French is. I don't want to sound pretentious or anything, but I speak French really well. Yet, it is the third language I learnt.
- My mother language is Arabic, it was the first one I learnt as I am Moroccan and was born in Morocco. But my parents speak French more than Arabic, and I started going to a French school when I was 5, thus, I started forgetting Arabic. I was still as able to understand it as before, but I couldn't speak it anymore, past my 8th birthday. (Some other important factors were involded, but it is not necessary to mention them.)
- The second language I learnt was Spanish, because of/thanks to Spanish TV channels and my grandmother, who only spoke Spanish and Arabic. But when we left the city where we were living (Tanger, just in front of Spain), I stopped watching Spanish channels, and left my grandmother as well, and then, forgot Spanish too
.- That's when French comes. It became my first language around 8. As the French school system wants it, I started learning English at 11. And I unexpectedly didn't have any difficulty with it. I have always had the best mark in that subject, without making any effort for that. Unfortunately it is still not enough. I realised my level was not as good as I thought it was.
- The next year, (I was 12) I chose Latin, but I had to stop after a few months, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to start Spanish the following year. I started re-learning Spanish at 13.
- But since I took Spanish at 13, I couldn't take German at 15. I had too many subjects and the teachers wouldn't let me add German. Yet it is the language I really want to learn. I like the sonority of it, and I watch German TV channels just to hear it, even if I don't get a word of it
.- As a consequence, the two languages I can speak the best are French, and English.

Written by Ernis on 05.07.2013 at 23:49 no 70% under age 20 dont speek russian nowadays , and 20-30 years old maybe 40% dont speek, older you know situation, I can speek, whit accent , but last 5-6 years I havnt use it, but I dont read n write in kyrlic , someone ask me in russian, I can explain whit more czceh, slovak accent, but if person speek english I switch to english.... same its whit german to me in russian ppl in sweden, I speek engliosh or swedish, easier to me But well I just said that post because I am pissed of whit french anti english attitude . specely in such metal interviews what I talked about

I live in Iran,so my primary language is Persian. I am also trying to learn English more properly. Beside these, my parents speak a very watered down and special version of Turkish language. I am not able to speak that but I understand what they say almost completely. I am planing to pursue my educations in Italy right now and that means that I should learn Italian.

I speak English obviously, and I know a bit of French, Arabic, and Turkish. And stuck between choosing French, Dutch or Turkish to learn them more closely and learn them to speak. But I guess I will finally learn French more.

I'm studying Spanish since september at night school. Fun. I speak Dutch and French very well but my English isn't so good.

I've noticed that a great deal of Scandinavians are able to speak English with little to no accent. My German teacher in high school is originally a Swedish speaker from Finland. When she was teaching my class, she had only been in the US two years, but I wouldn't have been able to tell that she wasn't from here if she hadn't told me.

Written by angel. on 09.10.2013 at 11:47 Ok, I only need French when on vacation. It's kinda weird that my English isn't very well because I have no problem learning a language. In school I did 6 years Latin and 8 years French and I was always one of the better students. Now I study Spanish in night school without problems. Maybe to little English in school? 3 years and only 3 hours a week.

Written by Bad English on 09.10.2013 at 13:39 No I don't want to change English to French, I just need to learn some more French, this might be possible by teaching English to a French speaking person, anyhow who needs to learn English, everyone already knows that language  I guess they don't care that much about their international fans, as some Scandinavians, some of them do the same thing.

But if band ha s90% international fans ... its like angfra or some other members post video what we can see at news at MS in portuagese , how many active ms can portuagese? I dont wanna learn french , I would better learn italian and I would also love remeber german, at level as I had till 1999

No all europian bands do it even french spanish (I dont talk about messiadge at local nat TV at native tong) butr internatinal trailer and new album update, like Angra or angra members did at portuagese for international datebase , IMO 95% fans speek english In Europe, all bands make it in english and even french bands and those week english speaker bands update wall at english and then at native tong I lik italian, spelling is easier then in french and spanish is overated

Written by Bad English on 09.10.2013 at 14:29 so check out ICS Vortex, I don't know about it recently, but once I was in FB, I liked the page, and half of the posts were in Norwegian, I remember one of my friends asked him why you don't update your statuses in English while many of your fans are not Norwegians , and he kinda mocked my friend and said something like it seems some people here don't know what's google translate, it was so rude if you ask me,from that day I really dislike ICS Vortex.

Im about intermediate level in english, and would like to study French. Actually i have huge interests in foreign culture so want some russian, japanese, spanish... But yeah first priority is french. No wonder some unsure that if it is too late from now on..
