How long is their S/T 7"? I believe M-A doesn't say, and that's why I didn't check it out. I didn't want to waste my time on something that was only 15 minutes long, but I seriously doubt it's shorter than half an hour

I think it is about 15 minutes max. Remember it IS a 7" But I think it is sold out stiff everywhere. Of course you could always try the label that released it http://nuclearwinter.cjb.net/
I'll get back on the exact duration later today after I played the 7" and cocked it at home

Yeah, maybe I'll give it another chance. Maybe it would be a better idea to actually smoke some weed while I listen to it if the name of the genre is anything to go by lol

Btw Astrosoniq and Gomer Pyle last Friday were awesome live. The sotner was enhanced a lot by the visuals in the background (courtesy of Roadburn's Walter, who also did the DJing before, after and in between the gigs)

I've been listening to Witch (USA) the last couple of days and I'm really getting into them. They sound just like Acid King, but with a male vocalist.

Saw Witch at Roadburn 2008 and foudn them to be utterly boring.

Doesn't surprise me. Paralyzed is pretty lame, but their debut album is awesome on CD.

Yeah I know they're traditional doom or whatever, but I kinda lump stoner, sludge, and trad doom together sometimes. I made it while being really fucked up, so I should probably take another look at my list hahaa

Nice links. Only surprising thing is that there was only one Monster Magnet included.

Great links, It seems like my list of cds to buy just got 3 times bigger. Although I think the Boris riff wasn't that good, they could have used one from Heavy Rocks, now that's some good stoner from those guys.

It's hard to tell the difference between some Stoner bands and some who are traditional Doom. At least I have it difficult to not see Reino Ermitaño as stoner...
Edit: And I'm listening to their myspace and I can't fucking wait to get a little more money and buy two of their albums, her voice is incredible.... "Quieeeero ver tu sangre correeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!"*

I thought I'd throw everyone a recommendation. I was just listening to The Gates of Slumber's radio channel on Last.fm and Black Pyramid played and I liked them so I checked them out. They play a very recognizable Stoner Doom but its really quite good from what I've heard. Not to mention their song titles and lyrics appeal to me. Their self-titled debut was released just last year and they have plenty of songs up on their myspace. Check them out.

Actually a pretty mediocre band if you ask me. Saw them at Roadburn and it was more like NWOBHM than stoner anyway and the vocalist couldn't hold his notes though he tried to sing even higher than Michael Sweet of Stryper.

oh, I never saw them live. That's a shame though... :/
But this NWOBHM and Stoner mixture is what I like! And it has a kind of nice mood to it, that also appeals to me.

Then after Clint W.'s post I decided to listen to them again, and my opinion hasn't changed. Besides occasional catchy leads and riffs, this band doesn't offer anything cool for me.

I understand. That's how Electric Wizard started out and then they found their niche and got better. Hopefully Black Pyramid will flesh out eventually, but I've liked what I've heard. I bet they'd be fun live too.

Church Of Misery on album are okay to good but nothing more. They should be witnessed to fully appreciate (especially the visuals add a lot to the music and their stage performance is maniacal as well)
