Zonaria - Infamy And The Breed
This band is new and good music. I also own their album, but seems the band has got much attention.
great album, and it's also on my top list for the year.
the rest:
dark tranquillity - fiction
freevil - burning
iced earth - framing armaggedon (something wicked, pt. 1)
kamelot - ghost opera
porcupine tree - fear of a blank planet
rush - snakes and arrows
scarpoint - the silence we deserve
tarot - crows fly back
textures - drawing circles
Both Tarot and Textures are from 2006, so not really applicable here I think

brain fart by me...lol. i could've swore they were both 2007. then again, i didn't get either of them until this year.
although it does say on cduniverse that tarot was released on 27 february 2007, i'm sure that's only for the US then? oh well. edited.

I think it was a great year for metal. Many bands got back together, many old bands released good records again and of course there was the Hellish Rock tour with Gamma Ray and Helloween.
Probably one of the best latest years in metal...

I think it was a great year for metal.
Definitely.
I was seriously impressed this year by:
Abigor - Fractal Possession
Wolfchant - A Pagan Storm
Angelcorpse - Of Lucifer and Lightning
Candlemasses - King of the Grey Islands
Nile - Ithyphallic
Vintersong - Solens Rotter
Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
The Red Chord - Prey For Eyes
and, I know... go ahead and bash me... but also:
The Black Dahlia Murder - Nocturnal.
I was also excited about the temporary reformation of At The Gates.

I've really only enjoyed the re-releases this year, nothing much in new releases.
So, this includes:
Sacred Reich - Surf Ignorance (Still yet to get my copy in the mail, damn slow mail order )
Toxik - Think This and World Circus (I don't think I'll buy these, but they were certainly exciting at first )
Redrum - Power Corrupts (Best blind purchase I've made)

Thers been around 30-40 more or less descent albums for me. Im simply too lazyass to list them all in here. Still, The nr.1 albums goes EASILY for To The Nameless Death by Primordial. And the suprising of the year goes to new Dead to this World album. Thats how thrash/black/whatever metal should be done if you ask me.

This year was just awesome... I still need to check Moonsorrow's new album, though.
