Ok people, like the old one, this is the place to tell us your latest concert experiences!

I'll start by pasting my last message in the old thread:

I saw Behemoth, Kataklysm, Aborted and Lyfthrasyr on Sunday.

As I may write a report about this one, I won't say much. Just that Kataklysm, and above all Behemoth, were amazing. Really. Absolutely amazing. I've been blown away, even if it was the third time this year I was seeing Behemoth live (after the No Mercy fest and the Hellfest). But, as headliners, they are even better.

Ok, I'll just give you the setlists of the last two bands, for those who care
Setlist Kataklysm:
Like Angels (Weeping The Dark)
Let Them Burn
Ambassador Of Pain
The Resurrected
Crippled & Broken
Serenity In Fire
1999:6661:2000
Where The Enemy Sleeps...
Beyond Salvation
As I Slither
Face The Face Of War
Manipulator Of Souls
In Shadows And Dust

Setlist Behemoth:
Rome 64 C.E.
Slaying The Prophets Of Isa
Antichristian Phenomenon
Demigod
From The Pagan Vastlands
Prometherion
Conquer All
Christgrinding Avenue
Drum Solo
Slaves Shall Serve
As Above So Below
Summoning Of the Ancient Gods
Christians To The Lions
Decade Of Therion
Chant For Eschaton 2000

Encore:
I Got Erection (Turbonegro cover)

To reply to another post in the old thread, both bands played approximately 75 minutes.

Next to come is Enslaved and Keep Of Kalessin tomorrow

Leprous on Tuesday. I wasn't very familiar with their music before the gig and gave them a very quick listen beforehand. I was only really going because my best friend was coming to visit and we're both really into metal, so going to a metal concert would be very fitting. But they were a very nice surprise. The musicianship was just as good live as it was on the albums, and Einar is REALLY intimidating, whether he's singing the long repeated high-pitched vocal passages or suddenly screaming his heart out like at the end of Contaminate Me. They were energetic, terrifying and entrancing all at the same time, which I don't think can be said about many prog metal bands.

I saw Morbid Angel's Covenant tour. They are starting to play more Tucker era material now and only one song from the last album, thankfully. So fucking nice to hear one of my favorite albums in it's entirety too. I also got to see Watain with In Solitude and Tribulation, which has been my favorite show all year. Both within a week.

Yesterday saw Dark Tranquillity + Tristania (opening)

It was the first time Tristania played in Portugal and I'm glad I was there to witness it. It was a fun show but I would have liked it to be a bit longer. They played mostly songs from the new album, which is a good one. However, the highlight for me was speaking to Kjetil Nordhus (Green Carnation) at the end of DT's concert. I'm a total Green Carnation fangirl and couldn't resist myself. I had to talk to him and he was wonderful. I felt like we could talk all night about the band. One of the nicest people I ever had the pleasure of talking to. For me, the fact that he is now in Tristania is an opportunity to talk about GC ahah

As for the main event, Dark Tranquillity, it was excellent as the last time I saw them in 2010. There's no denying that Portugal and these Swedes have really going vibes going on and it's a special thing. The fans were amazing for the band, the whole atmosphere was one of the best I've ever seen and the band seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. Yes, I would love "Undo Control", "Monochromatic Stains", and "Silence, and the Firmament Withdrew", which they are also playing at some shows but we didn't get it. Better luck next time and I'm sure they will return to have fun with us again.

My neck is hurting!

I still can't stop thinking about Meshuggah's show last week. Fucking unique show, one of the best live bands I've seen. Each person in the crowd was doing it's best to follow the music and it was a pretty amazing thing to see

The last concert I attented to was Sabaton two months ago. It was one of the best shows I've been to as of now! Not only did they play flawlessly, their humor and interaction with fans was pleasing and fulfilling! Joakim Brodén is one funny motherfucker haha! And I couldn't help but smile every time he said "My friends".

Couple of concerts I've attended lately...quite various.

Worship, Loss (USA) --> concert review for this show should be up on this page in couple of days.

Black Sabbath --> Located in Munich (Konigsplatz), very nice location. Awesome 2 hour performance by BS and a very positive vibrations and responses from the crowd.

The Rolling Stones --> In Vienna (Ernst Happel Stadion). Not their fan, however I've had a chance to see them live at least once. And I must say it was quite worthed.

Never been to a metal concert or even seen a metal band play live, closest was hearing a post-grunge band. Last band I saw was The Last Bule Band at someone's going away party, they played classic rock songs.

My last show was Eyehategod/Ringworm/Enabler with a bunch of semi local bands a few weeks ago. And yes...it was the one where all the bands got ripped off that circulated around the net for a week. All that bullshit aside it was a fantastic show, every band was on point and it had everything from black metal to stoner doom to drone to plain old classic style metal. The promoter ran out right before Ringworm came on, which caused them to shorten their set to a quick twenty minutes. But then EHG came on and pretty much declared they were there for the fans and proceeded with a 1hr45min set. It was pure class from them.

My last metal show was also Agalloch. It was beautiful! They played all the songs I really wanted to hear and the only way the setlist could've been better is if they had more time to play At the Toronto show that I went to, we had a local band called Vow of Thorns opening and they were great! Some people told me they really weren't feeling Jex Thoth, but I was mesmerized by their vocalist. She had a really unique style and lots of energy, I was never quite sure what to expect from her, and she left such a strong impression without saying a word to the audience!

The last concert in general was Lady Gaga that my mom talked me into. It was actually awesome and I enjoyed it more than I thought, but I am a bit of a sucker for choreographed dancers, weirdness, and fancy costumes. I think she truly is a very talented vocalist and a great performer overall. It's rare to see someone so famous with such a genuine personality. Nowadays, it seems that she's more about interacting with her fans on a deeper level than going for shock factor.

It's been over two weeks by now when I went to see Arch Enemy for the first time at American Beauty Car Show in Haapsalu and I have to say this was a pretty damn good gig. Their new singer Alissa White-Gluz is absolutely mesmerizing to watch, handled it perfectly. I heard she had broken her rib few weeks before that and still kept going. Other band members were great as well and sound was very good. Sadly they didn't do anything from Liiva's era but other than that they were superb. Highly recommended!

Before that in June I went to see Robert Plant with his current band. I received ticket as a birthday gift. It was OK overall and Plant can still rock out, although I don't dig his solo career stuff very much. Led Zeppelin songs were great however, only the new version of Black Dog was no where near as good as original. Well his new songs weren't actually bad either, just rather unknown and certainly more boring than Zeppelin's. But still - it was a bit brief with just 13 songs performed and prize at 50 ? a little too high.

Saw this week end a couple of bands at a fest, and was blown away by the shows of Borgne/Rorcal/Darkspace.
Was taken unawares by the oppressive industrial like BM of the first, the second was an apocalyptic sonic wall of noise that melted your brains instantly and Darkspace, when they play III I from beginning to end in perfect conditions you're pretty much in another dimension by the end of the show... The atmosphere was unreal, all was so perfect

Some other interesting bands like Cendres de Haine (seriously hateful BM, almost scary ) and special mention to Bölzer that got fucked quite badly by the terrible sound conditions of the small stage and left after 3 or 4 songs rightfully pissed off. Felt bad for them, but it was understandable.

Last weekend I saw Stam1na, Fleshgod Apocalypse and Insomnium in Vosselaar.
Went there to party with my friends.
It was a nice evening with a lot fun and beer.
As for the bands playing: Stam1na is a weird band, but they played a couple of very good punk driven songs so that was ok.
Fleshgod had a lot of trouble with their backing tape. Their intro started and aborted at least 3 times and they stopped playing during the first song. They talked a bit with the crowd and from than on they did a good show.
Insomnium is Insomnium. Boring as hell. This was the second time I saw them live and for the second time I filled the time ordering beers, smoking and talking to some people. Not my cup of tea, but the crowd was singing along so I think for them it was a good show.
